After bitting up the stock tires for 3 years and experiencing sidewalls on my two tires, I finally decided to replace them for a new falken wildpeak at4 245/65/17. Runs smooth and solid! My spare tire fits in the compartment. Thanks to your video, O air fits. I was ready to do the box for my tools but my stock wheel didn’t allow me 😅 it fits by threading the foam. Thanks for posting this great and educational videos! 👍

@@ChasingAdventuresCO so, all automotive manufacturers have internal codes for their vehicles I’m sure you are aware of some of them. I only really know internal codes for Jeeps! WK is the second generation Grand Cherokee! Mine is a 2006 Laredo (base model). The years for this generation start at 2005 and go to either 2010 or 2012. I’m sure Subaru has internal codes that they use as well. I hope this answers your question!

Hey! Taking delivery of my wilderness next week and absolutely cannot wait. I have the LP1's purchased for it (17x7.5 35mm offset) going on the stock tires until I decide to replace. I won't have any issues with the slightly wider wheel fitting in the spare compartment correct?

Just put on a set of 225/65 17" BFG KO2's on my 2021 Crosstrek. The full size spare concept doesn't work on the Crosstrek. My son has a 2022 Wilderness and loves it. One thing you should check .. your jack! Mine won't pick up my Crosstrek .. it's now inches short. One KZfaqr I know had his jack fold in 1/2 on him while changing a 15" BFG KO2 that had shredded. 🤠

@@ChasingAdventuresCO No, the Trek has a full size donut .. and the rim and tire I tried to get in there was one of the Toyo All Terrains on a rim I picked up. No luck there. But I went to plan 'B' which is the donut and a big bottle of Slime and a tire repair kit. I always have my compressor because I air up and down all the time. I've had 3 sets of KO2's of my Ford and at 268K miles .. knock on wood .. I have never had a puncture of any kind .. the 225/65 17" KO2 is brand new .. wasn't available when I got the Toyo's. The KO2's are a light truck tire .. the Toyo's were Pmetric. Differeance? The KO2's are 10 lbs heavier than the Toyo's .. more plies in the sidewall too. 🤠

@@sonny1597 I see. That's why they have hitch mount tire carrier. That's a bummer suburu doesn't supply you with a full size. And the KO2s are pretty much bullet proof!! @@ChasingAdventuresCO Did not want to go that route. I have a roof rack and aero bars but found the dam thing was costing me 4 mpg! I would put it on in a pinch and load the spare up there. Are those TPMS units aftermarket?...and if so, how do they pair to the car to get proper tire pressure info? Is that something the tire shop does and those are just universal devices that would pair to any newer car's TPMS system or are they specific to certain brands like Subaru, Toyota, etc? Know what I mean?

I really want to get the same wheel and tyres set up as you (im going to run the Wildpeak AT3W) but looking at the LP adventure page, im a little confused at what wheels to get, Can you explain the difference between ET35 5x100 vs ET35 5x114.3? are they a different size?

Hello Ian, the difference in 5x is the lug bolt pattern. Two different bolt patterns are available depending on the year of your Subaru Outback. For anything older than 2014, your bolt pattern is 5x100. Newer than 2014, you'll need a 5x114. 3 bolt pattern

You better have enough air in that spare to make sure the bead stays set onto the rim. If you have to reset the bead in the middle of nowhere your air compressor probably wont be able to do it. Or you're gonna have to get creative with some ratchet straps or something and cross your fingers.
