3:50 after sanding and cleaning up the rotor, you can spread a little Anti-seize lubricant on it to prevent corrosion and avoid them to seal.

Yeah, aluminum wheels and steel rotor causes corrosion, just like the door hinge issue people have. Throw some antiseize on the mating surface and it'll be fine. obviously do not get it on the part of the rotor the pads touch.

Aluminum wheels + steel will bond with enough pressure and time.

Big tires are not for everyone obviously. They increase weight and do require a lift kit. If I put 35s or bigger on my Jeep I would need to add steps so my wife could get in. I think 35s look the best on the two door. Like a lot of things it all comes down to personal preference. Nice review and for letting me see the differences. Thanks.

Yup I had to add steps on our jeep and I hate them but that’s the only way the wifey can get it. ++ I have to admit it’s actually her jeep haha!!!

Nice video. We have a JLU Sport S running 35s on a 3.5” lift with Rubicon flares. No rubbing at all.

We have a JLU, stock springs. I added some offset wheels and 315/70/R17 off a new 392 and pulled the stock fender flares and went to Rubicon fenders, so far no rubbing, but need to flex it out to see if we have any issues.

Thanks for the vid Matt. Weird that Jeep is not offering the xtreme recon 35's on as an option right now on the regular Rubicon on their website. But dealers have Rubi's (not Rubi X) sitting on their lots with the xtreme recon package.

We do a lot of 37s on rubicons and 2.5 inches of lift. They look great. And keep me posted on axles.

As always guys, love the work you do and all the time you put into these projects/videos!!! Question? I plan on lifting my ‘20 Gladiator 3.5” and running 37x12.5x18 wheel/tire set up… I also plan on upgrading fender flares to flat steel but the question is would it be worth budgeting for a re-gear… my current commute is about 7 miles each way and is mostly at 45/50mph. Thank you guys so much for everything you do and bring to the table!! Keep up the incredible work! 👍

Many years ago, I had a 3 inch Burbank lift on my CJ-5, and was running 33's. I went to the local 4wheel drive shop, and the owner had a 79 Bronco on 36x15x15 Dick Cepek Fun Country tires. We decided to see if they would fit my Jeep. They did and I ordered a set. I am a fan of the bigger tire low lift Jeep. I really like Ryan's Jeep on 37's. Run the Dana 44's with proper gearing and upgrades. Use high clearance flares, and don't load it down with too much weight. That's my two cents worth. That is the great thing about Jeeps. There are endless options when it comes to modifying them. Thanks for the videos.

Matt Ryan great job guys Matt been listening to you for years since the old-school CJ days. Question, I’m hoping you can help me with off-topic. I have a 2021 jeep gladiator 1.5 inch terra flex level kit up front, 3/4 day star spacer in the back. The fox shocks are squeaky at 28k miles. I want to replace just the shocks. What do you recommend for the this set up? Not sure of the best route. Everything I see includes a lift … any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊.

No shot running 37s with heavy beadlocks on a Sport without upgrading the brakes. After upgrading to 35s the first thing I noticed was decreased stopping power.

At least I know my JLU Sport with 1.75" Quadratec spacer lift would clear them, so long as I get high clearance fender flares and a wheel woth the proper offset. Currently have stock rims with wheel spacers.

I currently have 35s on my 2021 Gladiator with a 3" lift. Have you run into any issues with 37s on your Jeep? Or have you changed the ball joints and other components that wear out with the extra weight? Thanks

I have 3 1/2 inch Clayton lift with 37 inch by 12.5 MAXXIS M/T tires on Jeep Wrangler rubicon diesel. And with full articulation I still get a slight rub with the rear tires rubbing the plastic with a little bit of speed on the sand dunes. Rubs the plastic on the rear of the fender flare. It is very slight. Really Nothing to worry about.

Back in the day, late 80's, I daily drove a K2 Jimmy with a 6.2L Diesel and a 4" lift. I recently bought a 24' Wrangler 4DR Sport 2.0L automatic. It came with a 3.5" lift with 18" Fuel's on 35" Nitto's. This old guy likes it and I'm proud of it. How can I post a KZfaq profile picture?

I ran 37s on a 2 inch budget lift. It actually doesn't rub too much offroad, as long as you don't disconnect the swaybar.

I have seen on YT where 37's will fit on a Jeep with the xtreme recon pkg with no additional lift required. Do you think that's possible, are they not telling us something.

I think it's looks better on 37s, with perhaps a slightly less aggressive tire like the Baja Boss A/T, K02, or Ridge Grappler it would be perfecto 👌🏿

Close. I think the Rubicon is lifted an inch from a Sport and XR is an inch above that so it's not quite an XR Rubicon.

Yeah 35s are better, plus if you do 37s you'd want to do better axels and gears or driving would be a huge pain on the freeway etc. I have a stock JLUR and I am going to put 35s on mine when the 33s wear out. Maybe some rims. Nice to get a rotation out of the video too.

I heard Matt state in another video that it’s almost impossible to keep up with all the different build changes that go on Jeeps website. Some of these changes can be just temporary. You never know what reason they have for taking the extreme recon package off the regular Rubicon. Could be supply issues or whatever. I’m thinking it’s a supply issue because seems like a really dumb to move to remove that package from a profitability standpoint. I keep going back-and-forth between the Rubicon X and the regular Rubicon as when I built it out prior to the removal of the Extreme recon package on the regular Rubicon, I found that it was nearing the price of the Rubicon X. I don’t really care for the leather seats, but because I get so much more with the Rubicon X I lean that way. I’ll have to go break that second piggy bank and wait a little while longer. Decisions decisions.

Fluid Film on the rotor face (not the fiction surface) before bolting the wheels on. Rust problem solved.

Ok. Confusion here. You’re talking about the Rubicon being 1.5” higher than the lower cost models. In the 2023 brochure, the overall height of the Rubicon is 74.1”. The lower cost models are 73”. A 1.1” difference. Ground clearance cited is also 1.1” difference. So where does the 1.5” come from? Also, if you put say a 3” mopar lift under a Rubicon, the lift actually only gains you 1.9” correct? Because you are removing a 1.1” ( or maybe a 1.5”) and gain 1.9” total with the 3” lift right?

I believe this yellow jeep has Xtreme Rubicon package which comes taller springs n shocks so slightly taller than Rubicon.
