@@josephgood2704 If I’m remembering right (I believe it was Stroud?) when I was looking into top QB prospects a few months before this last draft, Stroud was thought of as a QB who’s great with a clean pocket but then starts to struggle quite a bit once he’s forced to move around in the pocket and/or the he starts getting pressured. Essentially, Stroud heavily relies on a good O-Line… while Levi’s for example looks significantly better while playing with a shotty O-Line.

Reminds me so much of his dad. Marvin sr. had a “just another day at the office” attitude. Neither are outwardly flashy. They catch the pass then simply flip the ball to the ref, giving the impression, “don’t need a huge celebration…. I’ll be doing this again”. The only knock on MH Sr. was that he was small. Obviously at this kid’s size he could be amazing. If he has his father’s work ethic, this kid could be really special.

@RedRum-xc6dg small by NFL reciever standards is all. Especially when you consider he was not generally used in the slot like the other smallish guys. He was being compared to 6'3" Owens, 6'5" Megatron , 6'4" Moss and others. He was 6 foot 185 and a strong 185 at that, so you're correct. He wasn't exactly small by human standards. But if you listen to the commentary on a lot of his games, they always mentioned his size. I'm sure we could name a lot of guys who were smaller, I was just saying if the kid Jr. has the work ethic of his dad and is 4 inches taller... watch out. No disrespect to Sr.. In fact, I respect him more as a receiver in the Era of tall WRs.

The throws from the QB, Stroud was better than you guys might understand. CJ Stroud was the #2 pick in this years NFL draft and many thought he should've been #1. Mainly because he was widely considered the most accurate college QB since Joe Burrow (2019 hiesman, and greatest season ever by a College QB) who was the #1 pick in 2020. Once you get more accustomed to the game, you'll understand why some the passes you might think are bad, aren't bad at all. There's a variety of different throws QBs use to get the ball to their Receivers. Back shoulder, low throw, high throw, out in front, on the body, ect ect. All to keep the ball out of reach of the defender

As an Ohio State fan, Marvin Harrison Jr (MHJ) is regarded as the best returning WR for this upcoming season, but, they’re second WR, Emeka Egbuka, is widely considered the second best returning WR in the country. Ohio State is LOADED at the wide receiver position. Also, CJ Stroud, the QB, was the second overall pick to the Houston Texans this past draft. And to answer your questions about “what happened?”, OSU’s defense completely fell apart in the second half vs. Michigan and they steam rolled OSU to finish the game. The OSU-Georgia game ended in a 42-41 win for Georgia. OSU missed a potential game-winning FG. Georgia went on to destroy TCU in the national championship.

Great observations during this reaction guys. Some of these catches were extremely difficult and MH Jr. makes them look routine. And some of those passes from CJ Stroud were made under enormous pressure from some very big and angry defensive players, were Heisman caliber. *I think that MH Jr. got injured during that Georgia game and couldn't continue. Or they might have won. **CJ Stroud got drafted by the Houston, Texans and is off to the NFL. MH Jr. future will depend a lot upon how good his replacement QB is. Some of the coverages on him look very loose because of the Ohio State running game. When the opposing teams corners, safety's and line backers have been getting burned by some very good Ohio state running backs they begin to expect a running play and that offers an opportunity to exploit any hesitation or indecision in the defense with a top notch wide receiver like MH Jr. Ohio State consistently recruits some of the greatest athletes from across the country. If you are a great high school player from any state you will probably be getting a call from OSU. Many great players out of my home state of California (CJ Stroud, and Bryce Young) have shunned our second tier football programs at USC and UCLA and moved across the country to play with the big boys. OSU is a legit college football powerhouse. And that is a very small club. ♠ Great content once again guys!

Marvin Harrison Jr was the #1 wr on Ohio State last year. While it was supposed to be Jackson Smith Njigba being #1 Wr on Ohio State in 2022, JSN got hurt and was out for season. While early on last year teams maybe weren't prepared for Harrison Jr, they were aware after a few games. Harrison Jr couldn't find the field in 2021 due to Chris Olave, Jackson Smith Njigba and Garrett Wilson being the top wide receivers. Wilson won NFL offensive rookie of year in 2022 and Olave having good year both 1st rd draft picks in 2022. Jackson Smith Njigba got draft in 1st rd in 2023 to the Seahawks. Ohio State knows how to develop wide receivers. As for your question about QB, it was CJ Stroud. He was Ohio State QB for 2021 & 2022. He went to the draft and was selected pick 2 of the 1st Rd by the Houston Texans. As for who the QB this year, it's a battle between Kyle McCord and Devin Brown. I think they will go with McCord but not sure and it switch a few times this year as neither QB has proven anything in college yet.

Bro that qb is CJ Stroud. Back to back Heisman finalist, number 2 pick in this years draft one of the most accurate passers coming out college. Most of the throws you think are off are thrown like that on purpose because he knows Marv can make the adjustment and the defense won’t. Like the throw when the commentator said it wasn’t the most accurate throw was thrown to the back shoulder on purpose because if you look the safety is on the inside so he throws to the outside shoulder to turn him away from the oncoming safety. Of course nobody’s perfect and some throws are going to be off but if you want a better gauge of CJ watch his highlights to see him throwing to more than just Harrison

He was the primary wide receiver last year and will likely be the same for next year. But the reason he is so open sometimes is because Ohio State has other elite receivers, that they can’t double cover everyone, every play. Granted, a lot of teams have really good corners that would cover him, like Maryland, Penn State, Michigan. He will have a new qb. The 2 guys competing for the job are Kyle McCord and Devin Brown, and it is expected to be Kyle. Kyle is a junior and played at the same high school as Marvin and they won 3 straight state titles together

4 things 1st you have to check out Marvin Harrison Hall of Fame WR for the Colts and was a part of one of the best WR QB duos with Peyton Manning. 2nd the fact that Ohio state had five first-round wide receivers 2 years ago is crazy they had Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave who were both 1st round WR in 2022 and Jaxon Smith Njigba who was a 1st round WR in 2023 and Marvin Harrison Jr and Emeka Egbuka who are both projected 1st round WR in 2024. 3rd he will have a new QB because CJ Stroud was tooking 2nd overall in this draft by the Texans who had his first preseason game yesterday and didn't look the best but he is most likely going to be the starter so we will see next season. 4th continuing this series of 2024 draft players you guys should check out Drake Maye QB for North Carolina and most people see him as a top 3 player and 2nd Best QB.

-16:36 I'm an alumni of THE Ohio State University. Harrison was not supposed to be the main target last year. The #1 receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, got injured and didn't play much through the year (parts of three games) and pretty much sat out the end so he wouldn't ruin his draft status, so that gave Harrison Jr. his chance to shine. That's why his game play changed from the beginning of the year to what you saw more spectacular plays from him later in the year. Now that Smith-Njigba was drafted, Harrison is most likely going to be the #1, but with his teammates Emeka Egbuka and Julian Fleming, there will be a battle and yes, he will be targeted more this year. -No, it will be a different quarterback, Stroud went to the pros this year. BUT, Ohio state churns out QBs, they probably won't miss much of a step... -His father was beast on the field, his son I think will be better... His father wasn't flashy and didn't take risks. A solid target for If you notice, he was getting TWO feet down in the end zone. In college you only need ONE foot down. He is pro ready... -17:21 Ohio State made it to the semi-finals and lost to Georgia by one point, 42-41...

Some context here, OSU has been cranking out WRs the last few years. An OSU WR is the current NFL rookie of the year (Garrett Wilson) and his teammate Chris Olave went picks 10 and 11. The guy taken at 12 Jameson Williams was also at OSU but transfered to Alabama. This years 1st WR taken in the draft (Jaxon Smith-Njigba who's brother plays baseball for the Pittsburg Pirates btw). KJ Hill and Parris Campbell are both contributors. Terry McClaurin is the Commanders number 1 guy. Curtis Samuals, Noah Brown also are contributors. And Michael Thomas for the saints was arguably one of best in the NFL until he was injured. Marvin Harrison Jr is lightyears better than all of them.

1. Marv will be THE target 2. CJ Stroud was the #2 pick in the draft this year but his high school qb is projected to be the new starter so they'll have some chemistry 3. They went to the playoffs and was a missed kick from the national championship game.

To answer a couple of the questions posed in here: Stroud is a stud and was special as a college QB. Went 2nd in the draft as other on here have said. What set him apart from the vast majority of college QBs was his ability to throw his receivers open and to hit windows that most QBs at that level wouldn’t attempt. A couple of the balls that looked inaccurate are the product of this. They were placed where if anyone was going to catch it, it was going to be Marv. The defender had no chance at it. As for Marv, he is ridiculous. A few games in last year he was already getting doubled or at least safety help over the top and he still makes plays like this. He’ll get that treatment all year this year and had a slow first game, but went off in games 2 and 3 already. He has a combination of size, speed, route running ability, and ball skills that you just don’t see except for very rare occasions. If he avoids injury he will be drafted higher than any WR since Calvin Johnson in 2007.

The QB was drafted, he'll be more of a target but Ohio State is loaded with WR's and has a great recruiting class coming to back up and learn from what's already there. OSU is a football factory at every position.

The QB in the video is CJ Stroud, the new Quarterback for my favorite team, the Houston Texans. He's done really well so far through 4 games. He has the 2nd most passing yards through the first 4 games of a career, behind only Cam Newton. Also, he has thrown 151 passes so far and hasn't thrown an interception, the 3rd best ever. It looks like my Texans may have found their new franchise QB!

Sadly we lost the playoff semi-final game against Georgia (the eventual national champs) by 1 point on a missed last second field goal attempt. Otherwise we would of played in the championship game and possibly won.

Guys some subject matter for you to react to is Little League baseball. This is world wide not just in the USA. teams from all over compete in regional elimination games for a chance to make it to Williamsport Pennsylvania for the finals. These are teams of 10 to 12 year old boys. The facility in Williamsport is truly impressive. By the way there is also Little League softball also world wide and also 10 to 12 year old girls.

To answer your question, Marvin will get more attention from the defense this year. The interesting thing is the #2 receiver behind him is a killer (Emeka Egbuka). So if you give Marv too much attention, you'll have to find a way to deal with Emeka. Also Ryan Day is great at scheming up an offense to create opportunities for these guys to get open. (That's some of the reason you see so much space like you commented on - not to take anything away from Marv though)
@randumo24
@randumo24 10 ай бұрын
How exactly is he going to get more attention next year? He was the number 1 WR last year. It would have been JSN, but he basically sat out the entire season. If anything, he may get less attention with the other guys getting better. Everyone else was basically new last year.
@the_outlier1
@the_outlier1 10 ай бұрын
@@randumo24 You answered your own question. "Everyone was basically new last year." The league has a year of tape on MHJ. Prior to last season, he had a few catches in the rose bowl. JSN was the stand out. They now know the caliber of player he is. They know what he is capable of. And some defenses will force OSU to beat them without that weapon. It's exactly why Day and MHJ have already shown/talked about moving him around more.

They're so scared that he'll run straight past him that they'll give him those underneath routes all day long. Receivers who are as strong, fast and big as Marv will often just rely on their athleticism to make plays, what sets him apart is his technical prowess, I have never seen a receiver with such raw athleticism run such smooth, polished routes and have such elite body control (he always seems to come down with the ball in the exact right position, whether that's to lower his head and fight for a couple more yards, land in stride to run right past the defender, keep his feet just barely in bounds. Hell, even when he knows he's going down, he always seems to twist his body just right to land on his pads, avoid injury, and protect the football.) Ohio State was one missed field goal away from the National Championship game last year, and likely would have won that game if it weren't for a dirty hit on Marvin Harrison that knocked him out of the second half of the game (Fuck Georgia forever for that.) Next you guys should check out Braxton Miller highlights, one of the most electric college quarterbacks I've ever seen, unfortunately his career was cut short by a shoulder injury but he was special. Go Bucks!

Ohio state fan here. Cj stroud the quarterback went to the NFL so more than likely it will be kyle mcord throwing the ball this year. We also have embuka who some consider the second best receiver in the country. Honestly I think Fleming another receiver on ohio state is probably also going to have a big year. Lately ohio state has always been stacked with the best receivers in the country.

The Georgia game is considered CJ's best game of his career, and ultimately got him picked 2nd in this year's draft. I'm an Ohio State fan and watching Stroud do what he did against the best defense in college football after the soul crushing 2nd loss against Michigan, was the pinnacle of that season for me. As far as Michigan in the playoffs last season, they played underdog TCU and got completely manhandled. TCU faced Georgia in the final and it was such a blowout the announcers kinda checked out. The Michigan game makes no sense, considering what we did against Georgia.
