Miggy was always known having fun while playing, there are lots of great clips of goofy moments where he is messing around with other players, fans or just acting like a kid playing the best game ever. Got to watch him as a Tiger fan for more than half my life, definitely one of the best right handed hitters to ever do it. Only 3 players ever to hit 500+ hr(would have had more if he didn't play at Comerica park lol), 3000+ hits, 300+ career avg - Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, and Miguel Cabrera (also 600+ doubles). 12-time All-Star, a four-time batting champion and a two-time MVP, in addition to the Triple Crown winner. Gracias Miggy!

Great reaction, lads. Im in stitches with this one. As a Marlins fan, I was really pissed and sad when the Marlins traded Miggy. We had him for his first 5 years.. I loved watching him play, he is a great guy, and he was big for our 2003 title team, even though he was rookie. Unfortunately, we couldn't afford to keep him cause our ownership was cheap back then. We were constantly trading our young stars for prospects. Being a Marlins fans hasn’t been easy. Then they wonder why attendance numbers stink. We won the title in 97 and the next year, we traded almost every player making money on the roster. SAD. It looks like things are changing. Hope they sustain spending some money.

9:36 the pitcher that Miggy hit the home run against is Mariano Rivera - the greatest closer of all-time and the only player to ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame unanimously. Also, only three players in MLB history have 500 HRs, 3000 hits, and a .300 batting average for their career: Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, and Miguel Cabrera.

As a monster Tigers fan I seriously appreciate you guys doing this one. Miggy is an all time legend and a HOFer, one of the most feared right handed hitters of all time. For 7-8 years, he displayed utter dominance driving in runs and played with youthful energy. We had some good teams and great players but never won a WS despite making it there in ‘06 & ‘12. The AB where he fouled off those pitches against his knee were against Mariano Rivera aka “the Sandman”….he had ice in his veins and arguably the best hands paired with uncanny vision. His pitch recognition is legendary. Tailed off at the end…but he is still THE 🐅👑. Also appreciate you blokes laughing , it happens to me all the time 😂. Keep it up !

When Cabrera won the triple crown in 2012 the last player to do it had been Carl Yastrzemski in 1967. Also, Trout was the first rookie to finish second in MVP voting, but that's a tad misleading because two rookies finished first--Fred Lynn and Ichiro (who was, of course, coming from pro-ball in Japan).

@@DNReactsya im glad someone else mentioned. There’s typically an inverse relationship b/t power and average. That is - usually if a batter is swinging for HRs, his BA will suffer. And if he’s a excellent contact hitter, he’s probably not a slugger. That’s why what Miggy did that year - and, frankly, throughout a lot of his career - was so special. Other recent guys who mightve come close: Bonds, A-Rod, Albert Pujols, Frank Thomas…. It’s super, super rare.

These are obviously some of the greatest hitters of all-time…and theyve only come *close* to triple crown in isolated years. You gotta be really, really, really special to hit for that kinda power and average in the same year.

His knee was so bad he didn't play the field for like 2 years. In his last game, after everyone thought he was done after his at-bats, they put him at first base for one play, and he made an unassisted out, and that was his final appearance. It was pretty magical.

Miggy has definitely impacted venezuelan baseball, the presumptive NL MVP, Ronald Acuña, has said repeatedly throughout his career, and especially at the WBC this year when they got to play together, that Miggy was his biggest role model growing up and that getting to play with and against him and have miggy crown him as the next Venezuelan hitter on his level has been huge for him. Miggy is a legend, one of the greatest hitters of all time.

to help you out with you blindspot on Venezuelan Born Baseball players, here are some guys from Venezuela that are also notable in MLB history- Luis Aparicio (1st ever Venezuelan to be inducted into the HOF) Andres Galarraga (it's just a fun name to say LUL- nah but he was also really good) Magglio Ordonez (his walk-off HR in the 2006 ALCS sent the Tigers to the World Series, before Miggy got there) "King" Felix Hernandez (Ask your Discord Seattle fans, they can talk all day bout this guy- but he definitely earned his nickname) Johan Santana (Actually got a Pitching Triple Crown himself in 2006- Wins, ERA, Strikeouts) Omar Vizquel (not that great with the bat, but is one of the best Defensive Shortstops of All-Time) Dave Concepción (Was apart of the Cincinnati Reds for all of his 18-year career including his partner in the Middle-Infield Joe Morgan while winning 2 WS as the 70s Reds were known as "The Big Red Machine") Francisco Rodriguez (The Angel Fan in me was inspired by his nasty Slider)

Like all young rising-star players for the Marlins who would be too expensive for them to re-sign, he was traded for a haul of prospects to the Tigers along with Dontrelle Willis after the 2007 season. Right before the 2008 season, he signed an eight-year, $152.3 million contract extension; the largest every for a Tiger at that point. He played the rest of his career in Detroit.

Ohh hell yeah, that Detroit content I love from Father Damo! Also, my dad was born in 1948, and he grew up watching all the greats, Mickey Mantle, Willy Mays, Hank Arron - he actually had a chance to play double A ball, but back in the 60’s he actually made more money as a factory worker. Also he knew he wasn’t actually good enough to make it to the big leagues. Basically the point I’m making is that he definitely knew baseball as well as someone can, and he said that Miggy was easily the best right-handed hitter he’s ever seen in his life. And I believe him. It’s too bad he couldn’t play until he was 80, he may have had a shot at 2,000 home runs. Ha you crazy bastards

Comments have caught you up on the Triple Crown and how rare that is, but what's even crazier is he would have won back to back triple crowns in 2012 and 2013 except Chris Davis on the Orioles barely beat him on HRs and it was found out later that Davis was using steroids that season. Would have cemented his legacy as an all time great, but despite that Cabrera is still one of the greatest right handed hitters ever and probably the guy who had more fun than anybody else playing baseball. Absolute legend

To give you context on why numbers matters in Baseball, generally the rule of thumb in MLB is if you hit these milestones- you're virtually guaranteed to make the Hall-Of-Fame: 500 Home Runs 3000 Hits 300 Wins (Pitching Decisions) 3000 Strikeouts There are other stats people will bring up but these are the ones that have been touted as the standard for 1st Ballot Election for the longest time. As time goes on, the 300 career wins is probably going to be the most unlikely to see again.

I’ve been a Detroit Tigers fan for all my life, since the early ’80s, and since they last won the World Series championship back in 1984, Miguel was one of the best things to ever happen to us since. If he’s not voted into the MLB HoF in 5 or 6 years, whenever his first year of eligibility is, on the first ballot, then *nobody* else deserves in. Also, the Tigers organization should not for the next 5-6 years give anyone else uniform #24, and instead retire it in Miggy’s honor as soon as it’s allowed. He more than earned it.

Watch the background and claim to fame of iciru zazuki. Just a very good batter. Not a home run guy. They way he just 😂 swings the bat is awsome to watch.

i hope this doesn't sound like an offensive stereotype, but if you guys are into cricket and ever wanted to explain the rules, nuances, and strategy, i for one would watch it.

Miggs one of my fave players. Remember when he started w the Marlins and helped us defeat the Evil Empire NY Yankees! U didn't mention anything about the crowd in the first clip. Marlins shared stadium w the Dolphins and avereaged about 1500 fans a night 😂 Miami fans r the worst lol

"Migwell". Gotta love the way Brits butcher Spanish pronunciation. Ever heard one mangle paella? To be fair, they do pronounce French and German words far more accurately than most of us Yanks.

Albert Pujols was better! 700 homers and the day he did it was legendary. Gold gloves. Great base runner for a slow guy. Stole bases some.

It would be funny if you guys watched 2 videos on the person who's hit the most Home Runs All-Time (*) and didn't realize his mark is 762 and not anywhere near 2000🤣

It's crazy to me that Miggy wins the Triple Crown yet 6 writers voted for Trout for MVP because of mental gymnastics.
