So much mis information on this thread.. mount didn't ask to leave... he just wanted to be on the same wages as reece james 250k+.. cheksea didn't feel his performances warranted that much of an increase he was offered 200k and turned it down... negotiations broke down.. simple as that.

For an attacker Mount is: extremely good at pressing, good at creating, and above average at progressive carries. Given his biggest strength is defensive effort I think the chance of him being a success at United is higher than if we signed someone like Maddison. Also his skill set means he can be used as an 8 and a 10 solving two of our biggest depth problems. Along with being a homegrown player and only 24 I think this will prove to be a solid signing at the least.

Personally I think United spent too much on mount. Considering his performances and 1 year left on his contract we shouldn’t of been paying more than 45 million for him. However this is a guy who I still believe can hit his old form of not improve and if that’s the case United may have found someone genuinely worth £80-100 million in the future.

He’s worth £45m based on ability, but the English and rival tax brings it up for £55m. I’m comfortable with it as a Utd fan, but it depends on what else we do (GK, CF) Edit - just imagine the memes when Mount celebrates scoring against Chelsea? He will become one of our own like with Carrick and Rio. It’s worth the extra £10m for that bants alone IMO

LOL when he was at Chelsea. Nobody rates him. Inconsistent is best to describe him. Now that he's moving to a rival they are saying he was a good player? Same thing with Havertz. Those two might be another case of KDB for Chelsea or it won't even matter. Only time will tell but what I do know is that it's 125m£ money back
