I really want a "Legacy Ride" where you can relive parts of all of the past classic Universal rides such as Back to the Future, Jaws, Kongfrontation, etc.

We already know it all between the permits and bio reconstruct footage. Unique in Epic: - That each of the 4 lands can be cut off for private events -- That the ‘spine’ itself is a land with its own attractions, stores and restaurants. - Each of the 4 lands has a large building outside the entrance. So even if you cannot get into the land you have access to Merch & Treats - The transportation plan to wire Epoc to the rest of Unicersal is brilliant.

Great job, Quincy. This was so professional and well done with some classic Quincy wit thrown in for good measure. I am all for another Universal park to hopefully pull some of the horrendous crowds out of Disney. Even though we won’t be visiting the new park, I’m very happy it’s being built.

I’ve heard so much about epic universe from other creators. But I didn’t think anything of it until watching this video. Whoa. If they even come close to the concept they will be giving Disney a run for their money. This sounds amazing! I can’t wait to see where it goes 😊

This was so informative! I am with you Quincy about the HTTYD land. I have been in love with those movies for so long and will cry if this land exists. If there is a toothless meet and greet I will lose my mind.

When I saw the concept art for this park I thought "cool, but how much of it will be cut." Here we are well into construction and almost none of it has been cut. This is going to be a park rivaled only by DisneySea in Japan. Unfortunately I think Iger's promise of 17 billion in Florida is a bluff to keep the stockholders happy. I think Disney's plan is to use the parks to fund Disney+ until it's profitable and by the time it is Universal will be onto the next big thing. Disney will need to proceeded with absolute caution if they wish to keep the theme park crown. Even if they went full out on the parks tomorrow, Imagineering is probably less capable than Universal Creative at the moment... I couldn't imagine saying that 10 years ago.

Didn't think Quincy could be any cooler, but she said "I'm running a D&D game..." - nice! I ran one-shot games with my friends when we visited Disney back in the 90s. We'd pick a relatively quite corner and use the magic around for our gaming. I think the Dark Universe is an absolutely perfect future location for gaming! Can't wait for Epic Universe to roll in.

Another thing, Universal plans on making a family friendly park in Frisco, Texas. With rumors of a Zelda themed expansion at IOA all but confirmed, the park coming to Texas, and Epic Universe, it's game over for the mouse

But Quincy, you said you love the HHN type of events, have you made a pilgrimage to Knott's to attend Knott's Scary Farm (the O.G. of themepark Horror Nights)? Or visited any of the "Brutal Planet" installations around the country. I think your experiences would make some excellent content.

That flat round ride is going to have trackless horses/vehicles you board in the little circle so it will run continuously in the big circle with riders coming and going wo stopping the ride. Cool.

I liked this overview of the upcoming Universal upgrade. It’s all very exciting. Hopefully I will have moved and be a resident by then. I also appreciated the talk about the Disney drama with the state. I love the Disney parks and hope they continue to grow and the drama completely resolves.

Maybe you should get a really good drone and fly over the area to get that aerial view of the new facilities.

Yeah, attendance numbers have been trending in this direction for several years now. More and more people have realized that it’s a huge pain to plan a trip to Disney. There’s already so many crowds and somehow the Lightning Lanes & reservation systems have only made things worse for everyone else. Many if not most people I’ve talked to who are in their 20s or 30s with kids who have been to both have told me they’ve realized that IoA & Studios are just as much fun & full of magic as the big D. And don’t forget the outrageous price hikes. Seems like every year I’m hearing more stories like “I would’ve loved to do X on my Disney trip, but it was just way too expensive”. Add all that up, and throw in the Nintendo stuff (that’s a HUGE fanbase right there) and yeah, I think more young-adult parents will choose Universal over Disney unless they find a way to turn things around, fast.

Universal also has the rights to warner bros, this includes looney tunes characters. Warner bros has some international theme parks which include rides based the flintstones, the jetsons, Scooby doo, Marvin the Martian, tom and jerry, and looney tunes some these rides might be coming to epic universe too.

I think Disney keeping its existing parks update in Orlando makes the most sense. Adding another park will result in more people not visiting each park, as people only have so much vacation time! If a new Disney park were to open I think it would make the most sense to be a whole new location completely. Disney Texas? Disney Colorado? Disney hawaii? Disney Mexico?

Disney probably cannot add a new park at this time. CFTOB has their hands tied. This includes additions and modifications to their existing parks.

To delay our trip or not?? Planning a visit Early 2025 so we can go not in the super hot busy summer and before my son turns 3, but is it worth the extra cost and wait to see this new park? It will be crowded. Will my kids be able to participate in this new park enough? Will it even actually open on time or be delayed again?

Important question first: When is the All Ears Actual Play D&D video dropping? I'd be all over that. Despite Universal Singapore apparently not being great, I've always wanted to try Far Far Away - Proof that a Shrek land can be popular and built. My favourite, entirely unsupported, rumours are Lost Continent becoming Hyrule to bring Nintendo to IoA and Epic eventually getting a Lord of the Rings/Middle-Earth land. I'd love to see Universal Monsters expansion add 'Modern Monsters' from Universal's catalogue, Halloween, Living Dead, Hannibal Lecter, Psycho, more Fast and the Furious etc. Last, completely out there dream - Give me some Battlestar Galactica love. Or make the futuristic 'hub' Battlestar themed. We're 13 years too late, but damn if it wouldn't be fun to ride in a Viper. (Also at Universal Singapore!)

I don’t think Disney needs to open a new park to “rival” Universal. However they really need to add more rides and areas to the parks. There is so much open and dead space that could be utilized so so much better. A villains area would be AMAZING and a Moana and/or Zootopia would be so cool as well.

Disney need more rides in Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom before they need a 5th gate.

It seems that Universal has so many more options, to choose from, than Disney! I'm pretty much done with Disney, and having to navigate the maze of lightning lanes, Genie Plus and single rider lines!! This is not a vacation to me. Vacation, to me, means go and do things on our own time line. Sleep in, drink coffee, get up and do what you want to. Being glued to my phone, is what I mostly do every day. I would like to put it away for the day. Cruises (not Disney) are much more relaxing.

Universal is definitely benefiting from a stability advantage when compared to Disney. Disney has already yanked $1B of the $17B back and my guess is that all major capital spending in Orlando has been paused - it just doesn’t make sense to start major investments when the political environment is so opaque. I also don’t think this new park is going to be taking much of Disney’s market share. Families still go to Orlando for Disney and tack on a Universal day or two. If it means families start carving out an additional day for Epic Universe at the expense of Disney then Disney needs to make some changes. But at this point I don’t think Disney benefits much from an arms race with Universal.

Disney is too arrogant to believe Epic Universe will be a competitor. That's turning into the downfall of Disney as a whole. They got so used to being on top that they don't know how to respond to adversity. Witness the whole Chapek era.

Disney doesn't need a new park, but rather continue to expand and revamp the current parks. Hollywood Studios could use one more "land" and there are areas of Magic Kingdom that could potentially revamped such as Tom Sawyer's Island (updated to a Moana theme?) and Swiss Family Robinson.

I think that Disney's proposed $17B over 10 years will depend greatly on how their battle with the current Florida Govenor goes. I'm sure if the batle does not go favorably for them, their investment will be much, much lower. As it stands, they've already cut $1B just as a warning shot.

I actually think eventually they will add a 5th park. Sure you can redevelop and add to current line ups but it only spreads out crowds so much. So adding a 5th park would do them no harm. I think that would be the last one possibly, can’t see other parks beyond that for a long time.

There is no way epic universe is 1 billion. If it is it will be absolute junk. Star Wars land was 1 billion to build and Tron by itself was 500 million. Epic universe will be 5-10 billion to build out. Nintendo land in Japan cost 575 million, I would assume a similar maybe even higher cost due to labor cost in America just for that one land.
