A quick look at Will Eisner's The Spirit: A Celebration of 75 Years, the hardcover collection of Spirit stories from DC Comics.
We look at the physical specifications, including dustjacket, endpapers, binding, paper, and printing, as well as the number, range, and type of stories included in this new collection.
Includes a look at the non-Eisner Spirit stories also included, including work by some of the biggest names in comics. This includes the Batman/ The Spirit one-shot which launched DC comics' new Spirit series by Darwyn Cooke

I don’t know if The Spirit or the characters themes could be consider relevant on still matter in Todays culture. But if the characters is ever made a return to media outside comics, I think a series in Netflix’s with the Daredevil formula would be great for the character. Obviously there would have to be some change( Ebony White , All women he hits on, etc) But it could be The Spirits comeback like Daredevil !! Plus after the Frank Miller movie. The character really deserves a fresh star

DC has managed to reprint all the spirit comics into 26 archives. Here's the link to that : www.willeisner.com/spirit/spirit-archives.html These can be bought on amazon but very few of them ship to India and it's quite expensive to even collect all 26 archive editions. Also, thanks to you, I picked up Bone and it's really good. I've been binge reading that book and have already crossed 600 pages in a day. I'll checking out usagi yojimbo next and keep up this good work. I never even heard of Bone and Usagi yojimbo in my life. The only comic apart from Marvel, Dc and Indian comics is tintin. Thanks again for making these videos.

Thank you so much, I'm so glad you're enjoying the channel! Yes, the Spirit Archives are on the expensive side but I would still try and collect them, getting one volume maybe every two months or something, if only they were easily available here in India. Unfortunately, they're prohibitively expensive once you add those import duties etc Thanks so much for the encouragement, and I am really happy to think of Bone being read and enjoyed for the first time by someone. Definitely give Usagi Yojimbo a shot and see what you think! (also, try our Castle Waiting videos for another one of our favourites that many may not have heard of!)

Thank you very much. I am in doubt if I buy this edition or the editions "The best of" and "Femme Fatale". Do you know if all the stories in these two volumes are contained in the Celebration edition? Hugs and thanks

Cicero Pedro If not all, almost certainly the vast majority are in this collection. I can give you a more detailed breakdown once back home (I’m travelling for work right now) but given the TPBs’ total price vs this edition’s, I’d say just grab this one and you’ll be more than fine! 😀

Cicero Pedro Not having collected or even read them all, I can’t say definitively, but in general the post-WW2 years are considered Eisner’s boldest and most experimental years with this series. Of course the pre-War years give you his establishing of the characters and idiom, and the war years themselves feature future legends of comics like Wally Wood ghosting for him. So you can’t really lose 😀!

Yes, in media other than comics, a TV show with different approaches each episode/ season would be very interesting. The Spirit in comics themselves has been re-envisioned several times for more contemporary audiences, many of which are represented in the volume in this video and a couple of which I also talk about in here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gpphna-TyeCwZoU.html Cheers!
