Welcome back and I've been playing Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes for quite sometime and playing through Blue Lions to get 2 of the unique Abilities I want to add 1 being Annette's unique Abilities but don't know what she buffs when she activates. 2 Catherine's Ability which I got now it's just finish the game and to make it shorter by recruiting the Ashen Demon. Can't wait to see Sylvain's reaction to the mighty female Ashen Demon😂😂😂😂.

We know we're a good 20 hours into playing the demo, up to our 3rd run which is full of generics for experimentation. I just wanna know everyone else is having as good a time as I am.

Funny enough, fire emblem was not what i thought about when seeing this game. It reminded me of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Rotk) series and Grand Kingdom. As a fan of all 3 games and of Vanillaware, i know i'll enjoy the full game. It very much feels like its own thing rather than a fire emblem clone.

Right there with you brother. I love how much this game encourages theorycrafting, especially with how transformative the equipment are. Basically every time I recruit a new class and every time I liberate a new armory, it has me plotting new schemes.

I love the attention to details in this game like how each unique unit and then each voice type for recruitables have unique voice lines to flesh out their personality. Likewise, if a cavalry unit attack an infantry unit the infantry will look up to look at the unit on the horse, it's very subtle but very cool. Also it seems the wedding ring isn't the unicorn ring but the ring of the maiden, the altar where you do the event is actually called the altar of the unicorn and the maiden. I guess the idea is that the unicorn and the maiden are destined to be happy together or whatever and Alain has the unicorn ring and their partner the maiden ring. It also seems from preview images that every single character can be married both male and female.

I'm getting my copy in the mail tomorrow I'm super hype 🎉

This reminds me of the Triangle Strategy videos you did Linkking. I really liked that you covered that (awesome) game and hope this one is just as good!

Ya just finished the demo and when I have the money I'm buying so dang good.

I wasn't really interested in this game for a while, but then I saw one of the recruits was big lady. You are spot on that FE fans care about the waifus. I put 5+ hours into the demo, and the gameplay that I diudn't see the appeal from watching really vibed. Haven't found big lady yet though.

Ah yes, my go to guy for srpg related things has returned. I enjoyed your coverage of triangle strategy and I am looking forward to the videos you have planned!

I heard about this Demo from FEMSPaint's video on it. Didn't finish the timer in my demo because I decided to just buy the game and wait until release to start over.

Also, you don’t need a marriage mechanic to have a waifu in the game. Sure, it feels more special when the game acknowledges and encourages it, but it’s not a requirement in my opinion.

Welcome back. This game looks interesting, I think I'll take a closer look. Too be honest, I was turned off with the title, but under the hood looks appealing enough.

Will wait for your comparison to Triangle Strategy regarding the storyline. That'll make or break my decision to pick up the game despite aware of Vanillaware's prowess when it comes to storylines.

You mentioned how you don't think recruited Ally's would be brought up in future segments which is something i also thought but looking at the character shorts on the atlus jp channel, the one with the hammer girl you can recruit (or reject), shows her talking to Alain in a snowy area so that makes me unsure because this isn't a plot relevant character

You compare this to Fire Emblem...I compare this to Ogre Battle (originally for the SNES, released back in 1993). Why? Because the "map" and "battle" parts, along with party compisition, ARE THE SAME. Obviously, there are new mechanics in Unicorn Overlord as opposed to Ogre Battle. But, hey, that is perfectly fine.

How about vs triangle strategy

This game sparked something inside me. The last FE game wasn't bad but lacking imo. UO is going to be so much fun!

The answer was yes. Triangle Strategy was good but never clicked for me; whereas UO was love from the beginning.

I liked the demo, but had some concerns about the plot (uninspired) and battle design (way too much reinforcement spam, ranged support attacks strike me as much too strong). Still, this is near the top of my list for Switch SRPGs.

Uh... my waifus in FE are like 2% of the game 😂 Heck sometimes I let my waifus die cause that can be funny. 🎉😂 It's the gameplay in FE than hooks me, the TS is sublime. Unicorn Overlord is phenominal for so many different reasons, but FE does the 'rapport' system better by a landslide epecially depending on the FE game. Going to be real, the story is not doing it for me in UO, but i dont play tactics games for the story unless it's Triangle strategy or FFT 🤷‍♀️ Ive probably already decided to sell over 1000 hours of my life to UO because that demo was so dang good I know this game is going to get AT LEAST as much as TS got out of me, which were like 15 playthroughs. 😂😂😂 If you like tactics games in general its fine, I'm not sure EVERY person who likes the grid based format will tramsfer over easily but the game is at it's core really fun, and the loop outside of battles is also well done!

I think fire emblem wish it was this good. The squad and tactics system, the way classes work, the way equipment work. It makes the game infinitely more interesting to me. No issue with people who still prefer fire emblem but I'm glad to finally see a game with genuine depth.

FF7R is going to have my collector edition of this game sitting on the shelf for a hot minute and that's a tragedy. Cursed release window. :(

Although they both possess strategy elements within them, they are very two different beasts, where the relation between the two is very tenuous. I think comparing the two is like apples-to-oranges. Regardless, I find the game to be very enjoyable and a breath of fresh air, but not because I play FE, but because I enjoy strategy games.

I don't think it will be underrated at all maybe undeersold but I expect reviewers to rate it quite highly

I wanted to like this game but I can't. Dont care about the story or any of the characters. I have only the vaguest sense of how combat is supposed to work, despite the game's efforts to explain it. If a fight goes badly I nearly never understand why or what I could have done to improve it. There are no options to retreat from engagements. Its possible to get stunlocked into bad situations. I have put ample time into trying to make this game make sense to me, restarting the demo multiple times, only to arrive to a place where I actively dread playing it. Cant justify a full price purchase. Sorry guys.
