We are trying to answer the age old question: "Will it microwave?" This time we're trying it out with a fork. There are some cool results.

In your mom's defense, my wife did make us go outside to microwave all the crap we microwaved that night. We weren't entirely sure the microwave wouldn't explode. The plan was to microwave stuff until it stopped working. Eventually we ran out of stuff to microwave and it still worked fine.

Its because this is a silver fork. If it were made out of something like aluminium or stainless steel, it would surely explode. And this is speaking from experience, that damn microwave didnt see it coming.

I microwaved a spoon before. So one time I was so hungry so I warmed up some food and accidentally put a spoon there, next thing I remember was a loud bang from the microwave and there was fire inside. Don’t worry family was able to get it under control.

@@RaeIsGaee here's my understanding: a spoon being round should disperse most if not all of the energy. especially if you put it in with food like this guy did. at most, it should start a tiny fire or it might glow because, well, its metal. if it was a fork, however, im sure it would start sparking or even cause a loud bang and fire because the tines would 'conduct' (wrong word choice) the energy back and forth

@HiddenDraco where do you think the phrase "burst into flames" came from? Common sense should tell you that i was referring to a flame staying small. Does not count at all if the "tiny fire" spreads, because then it's because of other factors other than just the item. Dont try to insult other people's intelligence and make yourself look foolish instead

Smooth silverware like spoons, are more safer to microwave because it’s spreads and dosent build up energy. Because metal has electricity, sharp edges and corns like forks have, will spark but won’t explode.

One time I was staying at my classmates house and his Dad worked at the Embassy, and they had these very decorated plates with like gold layers. I'm pretty sure it wasn't actual gold, just decorative metal or something. Anyway, I wanted to microwave myself a breakfest one time, and the plate began sparkling. I took out the plate in a panic and fortunately nothing broke.
