There’s a small music store in town that stocks Tagimas and I’m blown away! Fit, finish and the P90s quality are way above it’s price point. I noticed that even the term block is huge, not those thin ones you usually see on budget guitars. I love offsets and I’m planning on getting one of the Tagimas!

Just got my red Tagima TW-61 (it was sold as used, however looked new) and there was buzzing on the 1st, 2cd and 3rd fret. I think it was a returned item but all it needed was an adjustment to the truss rod and it played great, so, I got a great buy for $199.00 USD.

I have to be honest- I got one....shelf paper "woodgrain"- super cheesy!!!! The techwood fretboard feels great, but looks horrible. The trem is so-so. The P90 PU's sound awesome. O.K. tuners. Paid too much....269, not worth it. I also just got an Indio (monoprice) OS20, for 139. It came with a really nice Padded gig bag, and is twice the guitar for half the money. Great HSS configuration, decent trem, great tuners, great finish/switch/pots. Definitely a best buy.

The monoprice looks interesting. Personally, I really like the Tagima we go. The white looks great. We got it in to do a demo and flip. It is still here. @popsfereal
@popsfereal 3 жыл бұрын
@@PJandtheBeard I LOVE the sound, and once set up it plays nice. The "finish" really threw me though. It seriously is some kind of heavy stick on vinyl or something. I can see where it's folded down into the trem cavity. IN COMPARISON the Indio is miles better though, and cost a lot less.

I don't like throwing out ratings like that. I will say we still have it. We definitely got it to record and flip but have found that it scratches that jazzmaster itch for us and have kept it around. I am guessing on par with the "higher end" squier and Mexican fender stuff.

You know I am not sure. When I ordered this the picture posted on reverb had the configuration you mentioned. I was discussing this earlier today with someone who believes that was just the older version. We showed one in the BCR field trip video we posted today that has this configuration too. So, maybe this is just the newer version. I have to admit, I was disappointed with the switch at first, but now I’m sure I like this configuration better.

Mine has the rotary style varitone selector. I’ve had mine since March of 2017 so it probably is just something they changed in their design at some point. Be careful of the Tagima TW-61. The older ones with the chicken head varitone knob had absurdly thick wide necks and screw in tremolo bars. They don't feel good or play well. The new ones like shown here have a varitone "slider button" I assume to look more like a traditional button on a Jazzmaster. The neck on this one felt better and the tremolo bar is now a pop-in bar so it's also better designed. The problem with the new guitar is the varitone slider switch went bad one week after I got it and so no matter which notch I changed it to it sounded the same. I didn't like the way it felt from the beginning so it didn't surprise me. Too bad because the guitar has a nice concept.
@PJandtheBeard
@PJandtheBeard 4 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't use the varitone on this guitar very much, if ever. I found the spot I like, which I bet is where the varition is basically taken out of the equation. As for the neck, I really like it. I'm not sure how easy the varitone slider would be to replace. Who knows if there is a better aftermarket part out there. I think I would just take it out of the circuit if I had an issue. At this price point, I wouldn't be surprised about some cheap components like the varitone switch and some of the other wiring. I am happy with how good the pickups sound. There seems to be a lot of value for the money here. Thanks for your comment, you make some good points here!
