I left my Massey Ferguson 165 sitting in the parking waiting for time to fix it, now I need it but it's under 3m with snow, so I need to dig it out with my mini excavator will it start after so many months under snow?

Now this is exactly what I was talking about on another of your videos... We had to locate and entirely uncover one of our tractors so we could use it to plow. But that many years ago the uncovering was done entirely by hand, with shovels.

Sounds like a lot of exercise by hand :)

@@MiniMachines1Much of the snow rival around our cars was also done by hand shoveling to avoid costly accidents withthe tractor hitting the vehicles. We were STRONG as kids. We farmed 72 acres, doing all our planting by hand and all our harvesting by hand. When summer came, we went off into the woods with the tractor and the farm trailer, axes, splitting malls, wedges, a BIG Stihl chainsaw and a small McCullough chain saw, and old ty of gas to work from dawn to dusk. We felled huge 40 meter tall trees and cut them, splitting them into pieces just small enough to manhandle onto the trailer. After 60 trips to the house with wood, my younger brother and I would split the wood BY HAND, into pieces that would fit into our two Ashley woodburners in the basement and first floor living room. We would cut and split 30 full cords of wood, stacked out back of the house to last us 8 cold months. May, June, July and August, we rarely needed a woodstove fire. We had snow in those months occasionally, but rarely. Who would have ever thought of the northeast USA as an exotic place, weather wise? Farming was my family's sustenance, more than a business. My father was an engineer and my mom was a nurse. It was a good life, and we had a 2 mile long trout stream running through our farm that we could catch our dinner. And lots of woods at the back fof rabbit, squirrel and deer hunting. I miss that farm. It's not in our family anymore, but our lake house 15 miles away is still in our name. What memories, that are coming back by just writing about this.

I challenge your comment. If you had to travel on a road covered in snow or ice. A snow covered road would be worse for you? I can see some favor to ice. It never gets much depth. If your vehicle has studded tires/chains , it's good. Snow however. Even with chains, If it becomes deep enough to lift the vehicle and it's wheels as you drive over it, you are stuck. For me, if there was 2 inches of snow in the road, I would drive to work. If there was 1/8th inch of Ice on the road.. I'd stay home.

Awww.... it looks so fresh - I have a fetish for eating snow 😋, unfortunately I live in London, UK 🇬🇧 - because of climate change, we’ve having milder winters, if we have snow, for 1-2 days before it melts ☹️, when it does occur I look forward to going out to eat it, that looks fresh and clean (this hasn’t made me ill yet 😐) although, in the summer I have an ice shaver (to replicate snow) and a hand cranked ice cream machine to make sorbets (fruit juice)

Your snowblower attachment setup with tractor seems inevective! You have to drive past the snow to pull it to you for snowblower to work. Why not just use a front snowblower. Seems it would be more elective, less time, less stress on machine.

It's great for daily snow clearing when it's not too much. The great thing is that you get 2 things with you a snowblower and a front loader. And it's a lot cheaper for a tractor with only pto on the rear. See my latest video there is a front mounted snowblower 👍

@MiniMachines1
@MiniMachines1 4 жыл бұрын
It's Norway 🇳🇴 and it's actually one of the most common type of snowblower here, the little compacting the tractor does you don't notice the blade cuts it away. And when you are using it you drop it down and just drive, really easy to use. Of course I'm too deep snow it's not so good like in this video where I needed to dig down the snow before I could use the snowblower kzfaq.info/get/bejne/osWBesapqr_Mppc.html

@@MiniMachines1 im in Ohio US. I've heard Norway is a nice place. I don't know if I could handle the snow :-) we had our first snow last week only had about an inch though. The worst part with winter here are the cloudy days. Last year from October to June we only had 3 weeks total days of sun. Good luck with winter and either way it looks like you are enjoying yourself out there.

@@jdboy9 We have 2 months where we don't see the sun at all, because the sun is to low during the winter. At det darkest we only have 1 hour of daylight during the day. But at summer we have sun for 24 hours so we get it back than 🤗

Good you have all this oil-wealth now in Norway. So you can let machines get covered in snow over weeks instead just bloody moving them oder clear the snow off after each snowfall. Thanks to the oil, you can than piss around for hours with a mini excavator, a tractor with strange snow blower arrangement, and burn a few kg of Diesel fuel. Not to talk about hours of heating and so on. Greta Thunberg and her Gang may swap in from Sweden and explain carbon footprint to you, mate. Congrats and a happy life.

I started to watch a tractor start for the first time after sitting in snow for months and ended up watching someone dig snow for 17 minutes, then it wasn`t a cold start. you had hot air running to the engine. Complete shite and a waste of time.
@MiniMachines1
@MiniMachines1 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry wasn't trying to mislead anyone never said cold start, but I see what you say would have been more impressive if it fired up without the heat. I used the heat most for thawing out the snow that was everywhere freezing the throttle, stop handel and so on. Check out this video 14:30 mim out in it is an real cold start of the same tractor 🚜 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i5l2jMZknqulZ4E.html

I've blown enough snow to know this guy buried his own stuff, he's still doing it. And also... I would never use use a powered bucket to clean snow that close to a cabbed tractor, just asking for trouble , too easy to use a small shovel to do detailed work. I would NEVER throw snow at piece of equipment that I thought i might need sometime in the future. This guy has money but makes mistakes.
@MiniMachines1
@MiniMachines1 4 жыл бұрын
Never intended to buried anything, and most of the snow is from mother earth, we got a lot of wind and storms here, check out the biggest snow fall video i have, there you can see how much snow e got in only one night 😳, just a little bit from snowblower. And the reason is because I don't have enough room for parking and snow disposal so some snow from the snowblower that isn't blown ower the parking do fall on the equipment I got parked there. Using the excavator digging it out is no worry, the cab was really needing paint anyways so an scratch or two was never gonna make it look worse 😊 We have a lot of wind here so all the snow is compact and almost impossible to dig by hand,and why dig by hand when you have an excavator 😁

@@MiniMachines1 OK I get that but I've worked agri for some time now and used to live in northern Illinois which most likely didn't get as much snow, and I had a space problem too but..... I'd throw it twice before I'd throw it on a piece of equipment. And after breaking a $600 door on a John Deere cabbed tractor, no power equipment ever got near my stuff.
