I spent a summer working at that plant. I remember that truck well, I would stare at it as I cut rebar and built the box culverts out back. It had been sitting 10 years or more when I was there, and that was at least 12 years ago now... awesome to see some memories on here!

I run a mixer and let me tell you.. most drivers nowadays would rather quit than have to drive a truck that doesn't shift itself. Those guys back then were a tougher breed for sure That old girl wants to live.. really hope she gets restored.

I wouldn't worry about it running away. A good hard flat-out rev is exactly what it needs - you'll be surprised at how fast it clears the rubbish out and gets it idling real smooth after that.

Grandpa had one of these as a tandem dump truck. Was a 555. Cummins and an Allison. I bet that truck bounced into a few things with that long nose and extended bumper!

Now that’s a real truck, purpose built and it shows. Old mixers are perfect heavy haulers, they already have the suspension and drivetrain all a person needs is a Big Cam or a 3406 sitting around and voila you have one mean low boy dragging beast. They don’t have to be fast or go far either, just the ability to pull 250 k lbs.
@dustbin50446 ай бұрын
If you're going to bring an old truck back to life you need to replace all the essential fluids, examine the fuel injectors, check the air filter, and open up the power switch box in the engine to see if the power switches are still good.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 Well, this old White sure had some tough looks about it!! I’m glad it didn’t have water in the motor & transmission. That old Cummins really wanted to come back to life! Even the floorboard wasn’t too bad, from the video anyway. I even liked the old Jake Brakes & shocked that they worked. You just never know. I will have to check to see what all you have done with it. Love old trucks & know that they can be a bear when trying to drive them out of the graveyard or even onto a trailer. What are your plans for it? This truck seems to have much more potential now. Not everyone likes to even mess with these old trucks after they’ve been sitting a long time. Blessings my friend. 🤩🥰✌️
