After back-to-back four point games for the Oilers, Connor McDavid was held off the scoresheet in Game 6. TSN's Hockey analyst Martin Biron joins SportsCentre to discuss if McDavid will lead the way for Edmonton with a chance to lift the Stanley Cup in Game 7. "Bounce back"..??? Lol Dude was a Monster in game 6. Tbh, measuring his game by the stat sheet ALONE is dumb... and it's that exact lesson that McDavid has learned from past Playoffs. I'd go as far to say that performance, was his best in terms of playing BOTH sides of the rink. He was constantly backchecking, never outta position and still had a bunch of crazy chances offensively. I always thought if he could learn to play both sides, like Crosby or Toews in their prime, he'd win his Cup. Now he's 1 game away..... job's not done yet tho. We know Florida ain't gonna lay down and die... can't wait.

What you are saying is 100% on the money... McDavid plays his heart out every game, whether he is getting any points or not. Aside from everything else McDavid does, he took a penalty in game 6 to stop a potential goal as well...

His defensive play was outstanding. All the oilers were in position all night. The Panthers got burned over and over again. Better hockey won.

⁠@@pucker672 if you watched him when they had a 3 goal lead he was playing super defensively. True F3 in the offensive zone. Laying back to take away the odd man rush. In the defensive zone he isn’t above the dots unless his team has a puck.

Yeah Bob the 🧱 was impenetrable and Oilers played aggressive but Bob stole the game. Then wtf happened as Bob fell from 97% saves to 81% like that's not even minor league level and 3 in a row such garbage performance is uncharacteristic for this Vezina caliber goalie so the only explanation is he threw it away.

You are missing the fact that whenever McDavid is on the ice he draws at least one if not more than one of opposing teams players to either check or at least try to keep up with him. Almost like a power play. Whether he scores or not does not matter. He is playing on a TEAM so as long as his TEAM gets one more goal than the other team he has done his job. I suspect he is aware of that.

Yeah I hate when people say McDavid didn't show up when he's extremely effective whether or not he ends up on the board. It's like people don't bother to actually watch the games lol He brings it into their zone through the other teams entire roster so often when pretty much anyone else would just flip it in, he's making plays, creating chances, applying pressure, drawing defensemen, and not to mention his defense has been great as well. He hunts that thing down like no one else, sneaks up behind people and just takes it from them, he's fast, he's physical Like the guy doesn't have "bad games" he plays great and then other times plays extraordinary haha

There is no need to bounce back. He played really well on Friday. Points and chances will come naturally for him. He knows that playing a well rounded team game is far more important than any personal records. (Personal records are byproducts for a phenomenal hockey player like Connor.) Also, 8 points in 3 games, I am not complaining 😂 But I think we all know it is more important to Connor that the Oilers win the Stanley Cup Monday night.

as a neutral guy observing, (that picked FLA prior to series start).... um EDM has proved that they can win without mcjesus blowing it up. sure he had 4pts x 2 in games 4 and 5. then, game 6, 0 pts. and that's not to mention if the nuge and draisaitl explode for goals. if EDM gets the 1st score in game 7 and sits/if not builds upon that, FLA is done like turkey dinner. florida has had no answer for edmonton's depth guys, goaltending, o-zone and neutral zone penetrations, special teams, and goaltending. FLA coach paul maurice needs to be fired in the (highly likely) event FLA loses monday night. 💩

In some ways the comeback narrative is an exaggerated one. Edmonton lost one of their home ice games, and then the Panthers lost one of their home ice games. That’s really all that’s happened. It’s a bit like how in tennis you can be up 5-2 in a set with a single break of serve, and then your opponent can get back to 5-5 with a single break of serve.

Did not realize that the finals are over.Funny when down 3-0 everyone including me thought it was over.When the Oilers won game 4 I raced to the casino and hedged my bet placing 410.00 on the Oilers @+700 so if the Panthers win I win 2,300.00 if the Oilers win I win 2,800.00 I bet on the Panthers in January @+1600 so I was fortunate to be able to do this.Oilers were +2000 when down 3-0 I looked at it and did not bet on them.
