Meghan Markle is apparently going to relaunch The Tig, her self-obsessed, vain and shallow influencer style brand that she hoped could compete against Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop. It didn't work when she was a c-list actress, but Meghan is still obsessed with The Tig and hopes that her ex-royal status will give her an edge against the Academy Award winner.
Unlikely as Meghan lacks one important thing: self-awareness. Goop is vain and shallow like Meghan, but it doesn't claim to be anything more than that. Meghan wants the world to believe she is this deeply philanthropic person, but she isn't. That's why The Tig 2.0 will fail.

Yup - We just don't hear about it much because GooP Girl actually Does control her 'public narrative' - which probably has more to do with Nepotistic Residual Respect, from the press, for Blythe and Bruce. Plus - Oscar winners ARE harassed by a different more hand-off set of rules than other stars and celebs, so there is that - but I've heard from first hand sources that GP can be Super Haughty and Nasty and Condescending to anyone who's not directly benefitting her in the moment, TOO.

M reminds me of a story I saw years ago. This woman win millions from the lottery. With her winnings, she bought her dream home. She bought two mobile homes and had them attached. She had no concept of her possibilities and was comfortable to stay in her unfortunate world. M won the lottery but aspires to be someone who sells stinky candles. She had opportunities to go places and meet interesting people but wants to sell her garbage. Pathetic.

Never been a fan of Gwyneth, but Meghan will never be on her level. Gwyneth is an Oscar-winning actress and has made some very successful movies. Goop has been around for years and has a huge following. Meghan just can't compete with her, especially now that most people realize what a shallow and conniving person she is.

That visit to the women's homeless shelter was a kick in the teeth to those women. Showing up dressed in thousands of dollars in clothing and jewelry, was an insult and disrespectful. She can't relate to them. She has no idea what they have been through and are going through. Yes, that was the story. They have warehouses full of hard copies of WAAGH they need to get rid of. And more coming as the booksellers who were forced into buying the book I large numbers, are now returning them

I think this is largely because she doesn't really have anything else. Meghan can't act much and doesn't seem to have any other skills, so she goes back to what was at least somewhat successful. This woman is also unable to focus on others, so maintaining her own blog/Instagram account is the most natural choice for her. Even in the podcasts, we could see how the interviewees were rather in a supporting role and that cannot be continued for another season. Netflix productions (other than about themselves) don't seem to be successful either, and speaking gigs aren't that natural and lucrative for them, not to mention they couldn't commercialize the monarchy, which was their original plan. Making a movie is a long and uncertain process, where any profits (or losses!) come with a delay. So what's left? Well, nothing really, so Meghan is now trying to get back to her at least somewhat successful blog.

I believe the Trig 2.0 would have worked had it been launched right after leaving the Royal fold. She and Harry still had a strong following even after their announcement to step back. The public wasn't the most thrilled with *how* they did it, but they understood *why* they left. It's a little too late to obtain the kind of following she could have gotten before the Oprah interview. To be honest, they could have still marketed themselves as a couple, navigating life after Royalty without ever smearing Harry's family. It's not what you do but how you do it.

I agree the Oprah interview lost her fans but the final nail in the coffin IMO was the docuseries and H’s book, Waah. They’re now a laughing stock globally. She really stepped in 💩when she belittled the Queen and customs of a country when she mocked curtsying to the the Queen. I also found her “skit” with Melissa McCarthy for her bd mocking the Queen very distasteful too. This women has no class and thought she could fake it enough to fit in with European royalty. The only truth she’s ever spoken is “I’m such a fake!!” on that old interview and bragging about “ one tear, left eye, GO”.

Hey Brittany, just wanted to point out that 'Goop' has been called out by many medical professionals for marketing products & procedures that are potentially harmful, based on psuedoscience & lack efficacy. Another example of a celebrity who is so self important they think they can impart wisdom to the rest of us without a shred of truth or substance to back it up. Luckily we are not all sheep and will call them out on their BS.

Influencer? Insane...the Queen invented a role for her Vice President of the Commonwealth something or other because Meghan chose to work for the Royal family, rather than continuing to work as the Queen suggested she could, she must have felt she was so out of her depth talking to all those people of color from the Commonwealth since she had never 'been treated like she is black" whatever that is supposed to mean, so she ran away from the UK, then insulted the Queen and the Commonwealth in her mock documentary. So it seems that the internet influencer is at her level. Meghan's Mum apparently never told her any Aesops tales...like the sour grapes one.

Well, being positive for her, I can only hope that her internet target audience "to influence" is large enough in her own homeland among her "sugars" to support her, as she has really pissed-off Big-Time large numbers of other English speaking peoples in the UK and Commonwealth, most of who have more than a sufficiently good command of the English language to very rapidly know when they are either being bull-shitted, patronised or being taken for a ride, or as is possible, all 3 at the one time. The unabashed arrogance and self-absorption of her own importance is breathtaking.

Meg actually looked presentable in some photos from "Suits", but that's because her wardrobe was fitted & tailored. As the Duchess of Merchandizing, she never has her clothes altered to fit her figure because she is wanting to merch them afterwards.

My opinion on “last $10” is the same as I feel about New Year’s resolutions: if you really want to change, you’ll start now and not put it off. If she would give her last $10 because she’s so selfless, why does she live in a Montecito mansion prancing around in designer outfits when they could live in a suburban bungalow and donate their money? There’s nothing wrong with being wealthy, but don’t be disingenuous about who and what you really are.

The more they talk (or lie), the less appealing they become. But if people continue to look at the spectacles they create it should be noted by reading The Tig they will get ad revenue thus rewarding their behaviour. Let's hope this is their attempt to move on without using or bashing the royal family, maybe it's the restart we all need. Self indulgent or not. The explanation for the name of the blog actually perfectly captures the ludicrousness of Half Price's ILBW: she gets a shortcut into a highly complex, long-standing tradition about which she knows little to nothing (saying the Tig instead of a complicated Italian name which is hard to pronounce correctly) and that's it, for the ILBW, she's can hold herself out as an expert. So the Meghan Markle moment is in fact winging it; faking it. And she's so proud of being a fake that she names her blog after it & then extends the fakery onto other domains about which she knows nothing but holds herself out as an expert.

Meghan reminds me of an old classic movie with Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd in "Spies Like Us". There's a scene that they pretend they're doctors and have to do an operation to remove an appendix. They literally have a surgery manual and go under the desk to read what to do and start with, shave the patient. Hilarious.
