This Canucks fan would have no problem cheering for the Oilers if they beat us. Especially after this series. It’s been great hockey to watch and you have to cheer for the Canadian team once yours is gone. So long as we’re not talking Toronto or Montreal anyway. 🇨🇦 Canucks in 6 baby!

Yes your Canucks team led by Hughes, Miller, Demko etc is awfully "Canadian" 😂 if you guys win the Cup it's thanks to the United States ' players on your team. Vegas won the Cup last year primarily because of the Canadian players on their team. Hockey is an international sport, rooting for teams because they're based in Canada makes no sense to me personally,🤷‍♂️

i live in vancouver island but im from edmonton and although i was cheering for the canucks im so glad the oilers won 😭 the canucks are awesome, but they’re not that good at playing. the oilers on the other hand have a chance of winning. the stars would’ve killed the canucks

I’m not Canadian (Avs fan) and I am cheering for Vancouver/Florida since they haven’t won it. But I will cheer for whoever plays Dallas or New York. If the cup finals are Dallas vs New York I’m not watching lmao

Hockey is Canada's sport the same way Football is American's. Kids grow up with hockey at the center of their lives. 41.7% of NHL'ers are Canadian. The fanbases here are massive. We don't have any other sporting events on the same caliper like the Superbowl. There is overall just a huge a sense of nationalism and pride when Canadian teams beat out American teams. I imagine there's also a huge loss in profit for the NHL when all the Canadian teams get kicked out of the playoffs because, for a lot of us, it makes little difference which American team wins.

@@sma4827 the teams in Canada do not represent the country, only the city. the players on Canadian teams are a mix of many nationalities just like any other team. I think you are mixing nationalism into something that has nothing to do with it. suppose a Canadian team won, what does that say about Canada ?
