@@user-md3ij9oc9q I cant believe im saying this, but Trudope does a better job as PM than Dorion as a GM. Thats how pathetic I have Dorion. You probably got people in government, dealing with scandal after scandal, look at this Ottawa team and say "I wouldnt want to be those guys".

@@chrisfortin984 over the summer (well since the day they hired Dorion and saw his first press conference) I’ve been telling everyone on this site that he was not qualified for the job, that he should have never signed Tank, never traded for another goalie (at least not at that salary), never should have spent $41M on top 6, never should have signed Macewen, never should have resigned Brannstrom (he should be in Belleville at best), needed to upsize our bottom pairing, that we needed depth on our bottom 6Fs, had to bury Joseph in AHL (I’ll admit, I was wrong on that one), that at best we could hope for was “meaningful hockey” (I’ll admit, it’s gone worse than even I thought), that our AHL team was horrendous and that NO ONE is coming in from that team to help us, that we really only have 8-10 NHL caliber players in the whole organization, that the development staff and scouts have done a terrible job and that it made absolutely no sense to have DJ back (why have him on a short leash instead of allowing a coach to use training camp to instill his system). It was obvious to me, but many people said Dorion had done a great job, we draft amazingly, that DJ needed more time, that Tarasenko was exactly what we needed, that Korpisalo was the solution (like the other 3 guys we tried were less qualified), that anyone would want Branny, etc… The only 2 bright spots this year have been Joseph (he actually looks like he can play in the NHL) and Chabot (although I did 100% say that anyone expecting him and/or Chychrun to play a full season without injury is foolish (just look at their careers, neither is physical and rarely have played a full season without injury). So where do we go from here? Nothing the new ownership or management has done has been a surprise (although even I didn’t think the return for Tank would be so bad). There is good quality coaches in the AHL that have proven they can develop elite talent at that level and have won a ton at that level but we will hire Gruden… an unproven coach who’s AHL team is worse than ours (guess he’s a GREAT coach 🤦‍♂️) and we will continue to be the laughing stock on the league. To say I’m frustrated to be an Ottawa fan (we broke in with Tampa who’s won multiple cups, been a dominate team multiple times, has had (or has) multiple HOFers since their inception (we have 1), is a complete joke… but YES I will sadly continue to be a fan, happily defend them (even though I 1000% know we are a joke), and we’ve have been to 1 Cup final (since inception) and got embarassed in that final (looked like boys against men). That’s sadly what a true fan looks like in Ottawa. You know they are the joke of the league and yet I still want to believe in them. God I’m not sure if I’m dumber than the delusional fan that thought we’d be a playoff team this year.

@@user-md3ij9oc9q I can see Staios taking an Arizona approach mixed with Vegas. Draft a ton of guys (they still have like 20 picks in the top 3 rounds for the next 3 years), and build the team from within and have patience. Stone and Karlsson should have never been traded, period. I do believe to have it done right, this team is going to have to start over, and keep 6 guys as their core. Brady, Timmy, Jake, Mathieu, Shane and Ridly. Right now Staios needs guys in for support to these guys to discover winning. after that those core 6 will be the veterans to teach the next crop, and thats why the draft picks are so important, and Dorion threw them away like he was a cup contender, when the team was barely scratching a playoff spot. On top of that, tried to booster cable jump that cost years of rebuild down the toilet. Staios will have hard decisions. The good thing is he isnt as tied to this core as Dorion was.

Hate to say that I told y’all. No depth, no real elite players, a 5’7” D in bottom pairing, wasted money on goalie (again), no real prospects coming, a farm team that finished in last place last year, not sure how anyone could ACTUALLY be surprised.

@@user-md3ij9oc9q ya, the future is really not good. There is nothing to get excited about. I expect another slow start to next year and be last overall. I also expect it to be a longer rebuild.

Well, we actually got 2 draft picks (that we will never develop, because we never do (but hey keep the scouts and the development guys)).
