I am actually going to be so pissed if Soda Slosher returns because it wont have Fizzy and Cooler (The kit it should have)

I never believed the fact/theory that sizzle season 2024 will be the last season with updates bc mathematically it doesn’t make sense bc since updates started in chill season 2022 that would be a year and 6 months worth of updates (add 3 months if u count launch as a update) plus every time they say they will stop adding weapons a month or 2 later they announce Sheldon picks, so in my mind we WILL get third kits

Every day I see these devs’s decisions about this game my hope for 3rd kits goes down more little by little

I think it's a lot more likely we'll be getting third kits again now. I hope Sheldons Picks are prioritized over the Kensa Collection, they are just more visually appealing and iconic.

They could dump all the new kits and new weapons in sizzle, or they could give us a new drizzle season with just kits and outfits. They can also save their ideas for a new game.

I'm personally still in the sort of camp that there will probably be a content extension for third kits. It's happened with both previous games at this point, and especially we've never actually had confirmation for how long splatfests are going (which are the very final thing to end the game, even S2's surprise Sheldon Pick return was before final fest). I personally want 3rd kits because I've already observed the patterns that they've heavily went with utility subs on the second kits by majority (vs base game/other 1st kits that have been slightly more bomb-focused). A lot of weapons that had options between a utility sub and a bomb got that utility sub back (or a different utility sub) as well. So I think a set of third kits that give a more focused balance between utilities and bombs again would be great, especially for weapons like Sploosh that has TRAGICALLY had to wait for its one chance at viability for a splat bomb third kit 3 games in a row. Plus it would maybe decrease the ceaseless whining about utility subs for five seconds and that's always appreciated at this point.

i feel like splatoon 3s gonna end up getting more updates even after the last season because there's so many things that just have yet to be added like the fact that stringers and splatanas haven't even gotten a new variation

They could of saved the tri noveau kit for the soda slosher if the devs had brain cells

I think some amount of 3rd kits are guaranteed it's more a matter of whether all weapons will get 3rd kits, there's a lot of subs and specials without much distribution which feels odd, like we've barely gotten any kits with Fizzy Bomb or Torpedo, Splatana Stamper Nouveau is the only new Crab Tank kit that wasn't from launch, Ink Vac has only been on two added weapons, Ballpoint Nouveau and Big Swig every other Ink Vac kit was at launch. Also we've gotten a new main weapon for every class except for Splatana and Stringer, Splattershot Nova (shooter), Big Swig Roller, Snipewriter, S-BLAST, Painbrush, Dreadwringer, Heavy Edit, Douser Dualies and Recycled Brella, they've also been released in order of appearance, the main 3 classes of base Splatoon, shooter, charger and roller, brushes and blasters which were more like subclasses in Splatoon 1, the slosher and Splatling were added later on, Dualies and Brellas were in Splatoon 2, following this trend Sizzle season 2024 will have a new Splatana and Stringer main weapon.

I hope so, I sorely miss having Splat Bomb on Sploosh.

I think there is still a chance we get Sheldons picks, except it might be named something else. In the Ammo Knights shop of Inkopolis Square, if you look behind the weapons stats and kit screen it shows whenever you pick a weapon in that shop, you can see a sploosh-o-matic there. To me, it looks like a different color than normal sploosh, and not the silver neo color, making it probably like the pink coloring of Sploosh 7. Right under it, obscured by the weapon stats box, is a sticker that looks like the same shape as the sheldons picks logo. The picture, though, is different, and it is hard to see exactly what it is. (The background is blurry) So, my idea is, it will be Shelly/Donny's picks, instead of Sheldons, since they are like his successors, and they run the Square's shop. If it doesn't turn out to be their picks, I'm not sure who it would be. (You have to be fast to look behind the weapon's stats box before it loads in to see these things.) I also think there will be a few third kits because this game loves the number 3. The story mode used that number a lot, and we have the Stringers, Deep Cut, 3-way Splatfests, and 3 different plazas to choose from. Overall, I don't know if they'll keep doing seasons, but they might just do weapon releases, without maps or new clothes.

Even if they don't extend content past two years, we're guaranteed to get at least two more season updates. People think sizzle season 2024 would be the last update, but that would leave the game with nothing for it's 2 year anniversary. And beyond that, the next season is expected to add a new tri-stringer and splatana, we'll need at least one more update to add their second kits. And there's not enough weapons without second kits (6 left) to spread between two seasons.

I REALLY hope Sheldon's picks return. I 5 starred both Sploosh kits and I want to 5 star the third one, besides not having a proper bomb for my weapon and being stuck with curling forever would be AWFUL. Honestly I also wish for the Sploosh 7 to have the same kit as its Splatoon 1 counterpart (Splat Bomb and Trizooka).

also there wasn't any updates that added additional hair (like there was in splat 2 where they added hair for inklings)

what worries me is that Animal Crossing is made by the same team and we are seeing splatoon 3 feel very off andlazy compared to two... so i dont expect any more efforts for this game

as a heavy /dynamo main, I really hope this 2 get booyah and a sub that's complements the main, I feel like if 3rd kits do happen, I think if these weopons would serve as a huge meta shifter for comps.

There has to be a third Squiffer coming because in one of the weapon shops in Splatoon 3 there is a Squiffer in the background that has yet to be in the game. I am very hopeful for third kits!!

I think if they ever brought back Wasabi Shot it would have burst bomb and super chumps. Since Vshot has the original TTek kit and TTek has the original Wasabi kit. So Wasabi would finish the swap with getting Vshot’s kit. Since bomb rush isn’t in 3 they would probably give it chumps or missiles, but a splattershot with missiles would be hellish so they’d probably choose chumps instead

The clear dapple dualies are my most used wepon in splatoon 3 and i have over the double the amount of wins then my second most used wepon, the kensa splat roller. I NEED the clear dapple dualies back man I would do anything for my main wepon back, the emparry splat dualies just arnt the same

8:42 yes that's true, but it doesn't apply to Dynamo Gold Unfortunately it didn't get the old school kit with inkstrike the new special somehow doesn't make any sense on the weapon somehow when we get Dynamo Kensa my pretection is a Fizzy bomb & Inkstrike would be a very strong set as a gold dynamo.

I'm lead to believe highly that we're getting a content extension based on a few things. I think we'll get a content extension with MOST weapons getting 3rd kits, if not all. Here's my reason or two: Reason 1: Splatoon 1 and 2 had the same kind of dealio. Both games had announced deadlines for the end of their content updates. And both times, Nintendo's extended the updates both games got. While I wasn't around for 1, I do remember hearing about 1's content being extended past it's initial deadline. I clearly remember 2 having a bit of a drought after it's initial planned update cycle but not only did we get Sheldon's Picks but we also got the Kensa Collection of weapons. I'm very much lead to believe 3 will get an extension as well, but just like in 1 and 2, it'll be a surprise. Reason 2: It makes too much sense. While this may be baseless due to the Switch 2 apparently being pushed to 2025, it does somewhat help us gauge them extending content and hopefully, kits as well since they could easily halt production on 3 and just move onto Splatoon 4 for the Switch 2 if that console was to release this year. That said, We get about 8-10 weapons a season, right? With the 4 weapons we have left, that being Custom Hydra, Custom Range Blaster, Bamboozler Mk2 and Heavy Edit's second kit, as well as the Douser Dualie and Recycled Brella's seconds kits, and then finally the new Splatana and Stringer, that'll give us 8. Here's the thing though: Wouldn't the new Splatana and Stringer need a second kit as well?? If so, add 2 more and that gives us an even 10. But would Nintendo really just release the second kits for those weapons in the same season?? Possibly if they want us to believe the next season is the last one. At least, for awhile. So what about those 2 new main weapons found in the code? Of course, they could be just be leftover data from testing stuff or whatnot...but let's say we are getting 2 new classes. They wouldn't just cram it into the final season would they? Especially since those 2 new weapons would also need a second kit and Arceus forbid Nintendo be generous and hand us 14 kits at once. It'd make more sense to announce a new season with 2 new main weapons like they've always done so far, right? And what can go along with those 2 new weapon kits?? Them rolling out the 3rd variations of weapons along with the "surprise" announcement of both a new content (Somewhat) packed season and a content extension. A lot seems to line up that way in my head. Of course, this is all just speculation in my head based off of my experiences with 2's content cycle and what I've heard and seen other folks mention about it and such. Anything can and will throw a wrench into this idea but in the end, only time will tell. I just want Splatoon 3 to not feel like a rushed, content-dry sequel that keeps getting bogged down by so many awkward or just plain bad decisions.

I think something people might wanna consider is that yeah, Sizzle2 is gonna be the final season. But when it ends then what? Get rid of the catalog system entirely? What about X rank reset? How are things going to work without the season system? I think they're going to do one last update after Sizzle2, and maybe then, they'd drop 3rd kits... (Copium)

I personally don't think 3rd kits are happening. Yeah, they've been in all previous entries, but with how all 2nd kits now get somewhat unique skin designs that aren't just stickers as well as how many 2nd kits seem to merge aspects of 2nd and 3rd kits from Splatoon 2, it just seems unlikely to me. However, the two biggest reasons for why I don't think 3rd kits are happening are New Squiffer and H-3 D. If 3rd kits come back, I don't see them skipping out on bringing all of them back, except New Squiffer basically got the perfect Fresh Squiffer kit, and H-3 D literally got the Cherry kit. I just can't see any 3rd kit for either of these weapons that would be more interesting than what they got for their second kits. Hopefully I'm proven wrong, but with the Switch 2 supposedly also coming up soon, I feel like Nintendo would just opt for a new entry, maybe a spin-off, rather than a free content extension.

Yeah but we wouldny get kits that good as the old sheldons picks, we would get something like dapples,splash wall,splattercolour screnn(doesnt synergize much) But as i think we will get third kits, we could get some good weapons like we often do because i really want any daulie to get burst bomb and kraken or any slosher to have autobomb,kraken/trizooka/inkstorm on any mainstream slosher, but the chances of us getting s goodish kit like this is low and so i think splatoon 4 will he improvised

I just don't think we'll get 3rd kits at this rate, which as a former sploosh main sucks because Splatoon 3's version of this weapon will go out with two sub-par kits that nobody will take seriously (and I don't even play competitive). The current kit system of waiting for Nintendo to release more kits for us is becoming unsustainable given how slow the content updates are, besides it's kinda antithetical to the chaos theme (And that's coming from someone who was team order btw). I'm pretty much advocating for custom kits here. Other games let us customizable our weapons, hell even Mario Kart 7 and 8 lets us customize our karts, why does splatoon have to be this different and restrictive? Now of course I am aware that fully customizable kits would be pushing things too far, so I am open to some compromises/restrictions, I'll let you folks decide. Alternatively, they should completely rework and overhaul the sub and special design to increase counterplay, nerf the versatility of bombs, no more global ranged specials and no more invulnerable specials.
