yep a girl I used to go about with asked if I wanted to go for pizza we ordered and ordered wine she said if I paid for the wine she would get the pizza when the bill came she came out with vouchers for pizza from news paper so she got free wine and pizza and me the mug paid for the wine now I pay for my own

If we got out to eat to a simple restaurant like Fridays or Apple bees and all I had a taste for was the artichoke dip and Hotwings with a drink which may come up to $25 , now let’s say you had a taste for two appetizers, shots, a lemonade ,entree,and dessert which may come up to $80-95 why would I split that if you had more than I did? My Friends and I don’t split the bill because we respect everyone at the table, who am I to make my friends split the bills if I had a 60oz steak and lobster Mac and cheese and all they had was a salad and wings? 😂

She is giving broke. Why would you order all this high priced food & expect someone who doesn’t earn as much as you, split the bill when theirs wasn’t as high as yours, just because you’re friends? Doesn’t make sense. Pay for your own meal, that’s it that’s all.

If you and your friends are eating out and their total comes to 80-100 each and your total is about 20-30 and they expect you to split the bill, they're not really your friends.

The only time we all split equally is when we’ve ordered the same amount or it’ll come out cheaper. Other than that, we all pay for our own food.

I don’t drink alcohol, so I never split the bill. And if I’m on a budget I will plan out my cash flow ( I’ll look at the menu, I’ll make my choices BEFORE leaving the house!) so I enjoy time away while having a good time. My friends know that I don’t drink alcohol and so they agree. Life is too expensive now and not everyone is at the same spending level!

If you can’t afford it don’t order it. Pay for what you order/eat! Is this really an issue?! However, ill always offer to split the bill on a date…which one of my male friends tells me is emasculating to many men?! Personally I don’t agree 😊

This conversation just shows how far gone we are 🤦🏿 its dead. If you have real friends they wouldnt make it an issue in the first place and understand that you will pay for your own if you didnt order that much, end off. Ive been out with my friends where sometimes we split, or some split and some pay for their own or finally we all just pay for our own meal. Real friends dont care about who is paying as long as you all enjoy each other's company. Also if you have friends that only wants to split the bill and dont care for your financial state or if you ordered a small portion then get rid of them. Real friends dont judge but uplift each other and give a helping hand.

Shes either confussed or has serious mental issues. If i spend £60 and my poorer friend spends only £20 and we split the bill my poorer friend is now paying £40 thats double whay they paid, no good friend would do that

@@smkvibez2684 i think she may be confussed between splitting the bill and help a friend pay/ pay for their bill, if the richer friend said that then thats obviously a different issue otherwise she doesnt make sense but yea splitting the bill properly without helping someone pay alway hinders the poorer person. She just likes getting expensive stuff and getting others to pay for it

Is this even a question, just pay for what you ate. It's bizarre to ask your friend to pay for your meal, when you ate way more. It's unfair to exclude friends due to there socio-economic background. Just be mindful of others..

I was put in this situation once, we went to a fancy restaurant which I had no choice but to go along with them. 1) I’m allergic to shellfish. 2) I wasn’t even hungry that day. And yet I was asked to pay the same share of amount for food I didn’t even eat! I was like the audacity they had asking me to pay £100 for when my dish was only around £20 + the drink. I didn’t have the energy to argue and talk to them about it because ✨we were friends ✨ but when they asked me the second weekend to go out I declined. Because they still choose cuisines I either don’t like or can’t have and expect me to pay for it when I don’t even eat it 🤷🏻‍♂️. I don’t mind splitting the bill if we all have had proper meals and a good time but if you all know one isn’t even eating and just got an appetizer that only cost max £15 don’t ask him/her to pay above £20+ cuz it’s not fair weather they are rich or people with low income 🤷🏻‍♂️

That’s so messed up. These split the bill people I swear take advantage and do it on purpose. Unless it’s agreed on beforehand just no.

only instance that its reasonable to split the bill is if everyones sharing plates i.e at a bbq or hotpot. but if everyones got their own plate and some have notably ordered way more than others, have some shame and pay for ur part. UR the bad friend if ur expecting a cheaper meal from the friend whos ordered one water and uve had 5 cocktails. unless they’ve offered to split, dont expect it.

What? Is she telling to split the bill even though someone had a lesser priced meal? In my friend circle whenever we go out and get food, we get starters that we share, each of us get our own mains, and desert depending on what we're getting we'll order seperate or share. At the end of the night, someone pays for it and we all send them the money later. The way we split the bill is as logical as it gets, split for the starters and anything you shared and pay for the mains you had on your own. I eat a bit more than my mates, so usually have a bigger or two mains, I don't expect them to pay the share equally. Some might have alcohol, which raises the price even more, I don't expect anyone else to split that share either. Just split what you share, and pay full for what you didn't. Why is there even a discussion about it?
