I hate the fact that the producers made JoJo the main character in this reunion. They refer to her as an "og" and give her the most screen time. I totally support Maddie, Kenzie and Nia choosing not to be there.

Jojo should not be in this reunion. Firstly because of the horrible allegations from XOMG Pop that her and Jess have completely ignored. Secondly she was only in the show for 1 and a half seasons, so it seems ridiculous to compare her experience to that of Chloe, Brooke and Paige which were at the ALDC for years! (Especially when she tries to invalidate the OG’s experiences with how she shaded Nia, Maddie and Mackenzie)

It was honestly infuriating when Jojo and Kendall took a jab at Nia, Mackenzie, and Maddie for not being there. Yeah, Nia had exams-(good luck to her), but due to the cesspool of trauma, abuse, and toxicity that was riddled throughout Dance Mums, no wonder Maddie and Mackenzie wanted nothing to do with it. So Kendall and Jojo had no right being smug about it.

Honestly this constant victimization of them is annoying. They weren't forced to be there, if they thought the shit from Abby and the producers was not worth it they could've left but they didn't, they made the choice to stay and benefit from it. Maddie and Mackenzie would not be where they are now without Dance Moms, the way they act like they're so above and beyond it now is way more smug than Jojo and Kendall.

@@Quinhala11 Maddie and Kenzie have gave Dance Moms plenty of credit. They didn't give Abby any credit because Abby is a pretty horrible person contrary to popular belief. Also they were children. I don't think they had the choice to do anything, It was their mother making decisions for them.

Their mother signed them up for it, Kenzie was 6 and Maddie was 8 (I think) when they started on the show.. in what world do a 6 year old and 8 year old get to make the decisions for themselves and just walk out when they don’t want to be there? Lots of kids at that age are in extra curriculars they don’t want to do, and they don’t get to just leave, because their parents are making them.

Couple of things: Kira always gave mean girl energy so im not surprised. JoJo being the "face" of the reunion is a choice but business wise it makes sense esp. if she's really the only "famous" one in the group that's marketable. (Given recent events that might not be so truth anymore) Nia was actively excluded in A LOT of things so the one time she's not and she says no because of SCHOOL she's suddenly the bad guy? Nope. Leave Nia alone she at peace. Saying that Nia, Maddie and McKenzie forgot where they came from is disgusting. That's half the problem, they DO, remember where they came from. And I'm sure they remember it in more horrific detail than they'd like. There's nothing wrong with wanting to keep your peace. Just like there's nothing wrong with you wanting a check to deal with whatever toxic environment you want to be part of again.

I think the reunion should have had Brooke, Paige, Chloe, Kendall and their moms. Jojo and Kalani should have been “special guests,” maybe asking some questions, playing some games, taking on the Jeff Collins role from the previous reunion. But I can’t believe they still trying to get us to believe some of that drama was real 😂

It’s clear they won’t tell what its edited and what not. The scene with the Lux episode, where they swapped Chloe saying Paige and now she says “Maddie”, it’s sooo clearly edited but Chloe said nothing while watching it. A bit of a shame, they probably weren’t allowed contract wise but it would have been such an epic reunion if they did talk about the edited things… Especially when it’s so clear

It seems to me that Jojo was more concerned with letting Abby "tell her side" and not let Abby be "misrepresented" than caring about how Abby's presence affects Chloe, Brooke or Paige. Just the fact that Jojo has dismissed these girls' experiences with Abby online. I dunno, maybe Jojo could have changed her thoughts on abby and I could be wrong.

That would require JoJo to have insight into how messed up her childhood was. She was on Meghan Trainor's podcast and said that she had never been in therapy because someone she knows had their therapist leak information. Also from all accounts the way that JoJo was treated all her life is the same way that she has been treating the XOMG Pop girls, tough love worked for her (got her famous) so she is doing it to the girls that they manage.

I can't imagine going through everything she's experienced and not feeling safe to get the help needed to process it. It doesn't excuse anything she's done, but it does add context to the way she talks about others and the way she acted around the XOMG pop girls

I got Shingles too last year (I was 23)...in the same month I was scared of getting thrown out of my study program, my grandpa suddenly had to go to the hospital and my grandma got diagnosed with dementia. Paige getting it from the stress of a TV show where she basically just had to watch old clips and talk about them just shows how incredibly toxic the environment of the show was

Honestly I think lifetime being the ones hosting the reunion is a massive part of it since they’re the same company that let dance moms go on for years knowing about the abusive environment, but you can tell they’re still close with all the girls since they were at Paige’s birthday party which was around the same time of filming

Before even watching, truthfully the reunion to me is them coming back together to kind of close the door a little bit . Like of course none of them will ever forget it and always remain thankful but especially for Brooke and Paige, they never even discussed dance moms until that Q&A video and have healed enough to where they can come back to turn their bad ending into a good. Just my opinion.

I am already disappointed in the reunion. I hoped to see and hear new information about what was really going on behind the scenes but because it's organised by the same network that produced the show nobody is telling anything, Chloe even reacted to an edited clip and said nothing about it being edited. I want the truth not some half baked clips about some of the girls talking about Dance moms very generally

@@likeyou4191 We should NOT blame Chloe for this. She actually said in the reunion and in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she highly debated showing up at the reunion. Ultimately, she did decide to come but only because she knew they were going to talk about her whether or not she was in the room, so she might as well have been there to control her own narrative. And when she is on camera, she has to do what the producers tell her to do, including going along with fake story lines. This is not Chloe's fault.

Honestly I don't think anything that we don't already know is going to be revealed at the reunion. Except emotions will come out about how the girls were feeling in the moment when they were being set up by producers. I also think that producers of the show still have a lot of footage that we never got to see and if they released it, It would make them look horrible as adults. It's no telling how many stunts the producers set up that went too far that hurt these kids in the process. I totally understand why some people have completely distanced themselves from lifetime. The adults in this situation should be ashamed of themselves. I can imagine how many shady things was done behind the scenes involving little girls. And tried to keep them stuck on that show.

100%, I watched one of the videos with Brooke and she was talking about inspiring girls because she tried cheerleading and the producer goes “You were empowered”. And it just gave me the ick of like, this whole reunion feels like a PR move because everyone sees how cooked the show/producers actually were to the children

If lifetime wants just the OG they need to remove 3 girls who aren't OG's. If Nia, Kenzie, and madd😢 don't want to participate that's ok that's their decision and no one else's no one should have to relive what they went through as a child. I'm actually thankful abby wasn't asked to be part of the reunion and for abby to say she's the reason why they're famous is BS those girls are famous because fans love them and they had to deal with so much BS. I’m glad Abby isn’t there too!! We have heard enough from her to last a lifetime. And why would anybody want to sit and listen to her re-write history for 2 hours?? She was a mega fan so she knows what the show said happened, she was on the show long enough to know that doesn't tell the real story.

I think what Jojo, Kendall, Kalani, and Kira do not understand is the producers of the reunion are the same people who fed Maddie bratty lines that the audience still hate her for until today, the same people who made fun of Kenzie crying, and the same people who actively excluded Nia when she was still on the show. If they are allowed to accept a check and risk being “edited” for the drama, then the girls who opted not to join are also allowed to skip the reunion for their peace of mind. And who made Kendall the president of Dance Moms for her to say that the girls are not allowed to talk about their experiences only because they chose not to go to the reunion?

Some of the clips I seen that their still going along with the storylines that we are ready know were fake, so I wish it would show them being completely honest to what it was like for them behind the scenes and fake stories 😢 I also think they only invited JoJo because the producers thought she has a huge following and is one of the most successful and richest one, I think the producers thought it was going to be taken positively and sadly they were wrong again.

I chose not to attend my 11 year high school reunion two years ago because I wasn’t in the right place mentally at the time to do so and did not want to revert back to the self esteem issues I faced in high school and I would be furious if any of my high school friends dragged me through the mud for not going like JoJo, Kalani, and Kendall did to the Zieglers and Nia 😢

i was a huge dance moms fan as a kid and now as i study child development in college my entire view on the show has shifted. the children who were harassed not only by abby but by the mothers is so upsetting. members like jojo and brynn specifically being singled out by the mothers made my rewatch experience so difficult. it’s so unfortunate seeing jojo call nia and the zieglers ungrateful for not wanting to relive their childhood trauma. not only were they brought up in a horribly competitive environment but the entire world got to see a heavily produced version of it.

also the mini drama from season 7 was so crazy especially with elliana recounting her experience on the show. the children felt isolated, humiliated, and anxious at all times. their health was never prioritized.

I think the producers have absolutely no regrets about how the girls were treated nor about the abuse they enabled. instead of making this special about vindicating the girls and acknowledging their hardships, they decided to double down and make it a big ol’ celebration of the spectacle of child abuse they created a decade ago. This is why heavily featuring Jojo and Kalani makes sense, as they’re the only ones who are still ride or die for Abby. I think Lifetime and the Dance Moms producers wanted to use this opportunity to say “well it wasn’t all THAT bad!” about the show, even though we all know it was. It’s just such a slap in the face to these girls and their VERY REAL trauma.

Why do I feel like maybe the girls and moms could've done their own reunion through KZfaq instead of through Lifetime? If it was all about the money, then I guess Lifetime it is. If they had gone through a different avenue like KZfaq, maybe they could've said anything they wanted to with no restrictions, and maybe then ALL of the moms and daughters would've attended. Maybe? 🤷🏽‍♀️ I can't believe that they put themselves through restrictive contracts all over again in doing this reunion. I thought that signing contracts the first time around was the cause of a lot of heartache while the girls were young, and now they're doing it again? I would have just preferred to see and watch these young ladies strive, after all they endured, on social media doing their own thing and speaking their truth. FREELY!

In terms of the couple of girls judging Maddie and MacKenzie for not being involved with the reunion shows immaturity and a lack of understanding of the psychological impact Dance Moms had on them as young children. Everyone had a different experience and it's not fair to think that just because your experience was good and you are thankful etc it doesn't mean that it was the same for everyone else . I don't blame them for guarding their emotional well being by not reliving the experience on international TV.

Yeah It's was hypocritical of some of the girls judging Maddie and MacKenzie when they said they were stressed out being on set and reliving the pass. Kendell and Jill especially seem to be so self-centred, that they don't have the ability to show empathy toward others. Maddie, Mackenzie, and Nia made the right decision. The Producers are just using them for entertainment.

I highly doubt there will be any new information, especially if there is already a contract. And I have my suspicions about that because it probably means less disclosure on certain topics and more things to not talk about in the future for the cast. And probably that helps the cast members who already have a good image from the fans. And even the producers who keep the profits from the show. It's also probably a reason why Nia, Maddie, and Mackenzie didn't want to do it at all.

I don't understand the confusion on jojo's invitation to this thing? Obviously, she's the most commercially famous outside of the show, and was on for several seasons. Also, I'm pretty sure this was filmed prior to the Rolling Stone article being released with the allegations against her made by former members of XOMG Pop. Anyway, I think we're all going to be generally disappointed with what we get from the reunion, but either way, I'm happy to get new content from the girls and moms, even if it's just a few of them!

Question- when Jojo says that all the girls were invited does she literally mean all the kids ever on the show? Or just the OGs? Because I feel like if it’s just the OGs she has no right to be there at all (or Kalani, and maybe Kendall) but if all the kids were invited the cast seems very small. I would think that at least a few more people would have said yes!

In my opinion, you don't need to accept to be filmed and aired in a special TV episode to be able to have closure from your childhood traumas. I am not justifying their negative experiences by saying this, but it honestly seems silly to me to justify this project as it being a great opportunity to be "with your childhood friends" and "have closure". To me, it doesn't seem like anything else but a way to get some money, for both the people who participated on this, and the people who arranged this. I honestly cannot find any other logical explanation. I wish the best to every person who was involved in this project, but I can't find a way to justify any of this. It all just sounds so ridiculous to me. "Let's make these young women revisit their trauma so that we get some money through views!!!" Yikes.

The day this reunion was a announced I made up my mind that I would refuse to watch it live mostly cause I didn’t wanna give the producers the ratings and honestly JoJo being there was turning me down then the trailer came out and it looked like a hot mess so that made me even more certain that I’m not watching this now there is no chance in hell I’m watching this Thanks but no thanks instead I’m gonna focus on the fact that I got to see Chloe and Paige together a lot as off recently cause there friendship is my favorite one in the show

Does anyone know why the girls decided to actually do the reunion? Because I understand that they want to talk about the thing that helped make their careers what they are and also help address their past trauma but knowing how horrible lifetime and the producers are I wouldn't even see a point in trying to do a reunion, it would make so much sense to me if it was away from all of that and I actually think more people would've been open to the idea of going if it wasn't linked to the official dance moms.

I personally see Kendall as an OG just because of the short amount of time between season 1 and 2. Dance Moms first aired in July 2011 and season 2 began filming in October 2011 - literally only 3 months later. But I guess everyone has a different opinion on it 🤷‍♀️

JoJo had zero business being on this reunion. She had only been on the show for 2 ish seasons, while everyone else had been there 3 or more seasons. And she only danced with Kalani and Kendall on the show which just made it awkward between everyone else. The only reason she was there was to make Abby seem better and create tension and an awkward vibe.

Jojo is incredibly problematic and she shouldn't have been allowed to attend the reunion, especially with the controversy over her pop group. Sadly it makes perfect sense as to why she was though as she's a firm defender of Abby and she will bring an element of Abby's attitude and controversy to the reunion which is what Lifetime loves. Production keeping the show's narrative makes sense as Lifetime has created it so they aren't going to make themselves look bad by being honest now. Many people who haven't seen this channel still believe that the storylines were real too. Sadly this reunion is going to be like any other episode of Dance Moms, over produced and edited to within an inch of it's life.

It was filmed before the Rolling Stone article brought light to people's concern about the group. It was filmed after JoJo defended Colleen on the Howie Mandel show though, so I guess it depends on how long they had been invited for if the contracts had been signed etc. I agree that JoJo was invited because both Jess and JoJo would be willing to say the controversial things and it doesn't come as a surprise to anyone that she would defend Abby seeing as she was already doing that.

I personally believe the reunion is just as edited and produced as the show. The fact that they still couldn’t show the real footage of Season 4 Nationals with the comment about Chloe’s eye speaks volumes. And I don’t like the fact that Jojo is a part of the reunion with all the recent controversy from XOMGPOP. She’s clearly there to defend Abby and invalidate others. And why would the girls do the reunion in the first place and sign contracts? Didn’t they learn anything from their moms about dodgy contracts?

I have to strongly disagree with you pretty much all the girls have been to college/ university because they want a stable career. Paige made a tiktok responding to someone who said something similar to you saying that she wants to have a solid career because of how unstable the entertainment industry is (eg the writer’s strikes). The majority of the girls don’t post/talk about dance moms because they don’t want to be known as the dance moms girls forever

The fanbase is still huge just look at the amount of views videos on the dance moms KZfaq channel get that’s not stopping anytime soon. Sure there’s going to be fans that won’t care for the reboot but there’s definitely going to be fans watching it out of curiosity.
