TCS, Infosys, HCL Tech and Wipro announced their second quarter results over the past few days. Most presented a pretty gloomy picture for the near future.
While highlighting some deal wins, Infosys's CEO acknowledged that macroeconomic environment was uncertain.
Post pandemic, IT firms have been missing revenue growth expectations but are able to use cost levers to meet profit expectations. Financials of the past are important, but even more critical is how the future looks.
What does this mean for jobs in the sector that currently employs in excess of 5 million? Can people expect significant salary increments?

I dont have much hope for this country. The modest growth rate of the country of about 7% is also not sustainable with high unemployment

Indian IT sector does not able to provide future prospective now. So growth in this sector is uncertain. Future is also in dark vein. But IT people's are still enjoying handsome money, rather than core sector.

Companies like TCS, Infosys are not even ready to rollout offer letters even after when the candidate has cleared all rounds of interviews

internship and working on projects will help you land on either the host company from the internship or the experience helps you get a job in other companies(I am from IT so said for IT job aspirants)

Indian IT companies are too dependent on the west for their business. Further, the growth of AI is going to reduce the number of IT engineers. Even within the Indian IT industry, belt tightening may be required.
