My husband says you guys need to sharpen your drill bits, run the drill slower with such a big bit and use oil to help. He’s a retired mold maker/precision machinist, so he knows. Lol. We love you guys. 🥰

You can never push too hard or spin too slow when drilling. Look up Cole drills if you disagree. But plenty of people crank up the speed anyways. All that does is heat things up and wreck bits.
@Derf1313
@Derf1313 Жыл бұрын
Yeppers, heat kills! Gotta pair the speed with the material. & even if ya don't have cutting oil, water works fine. It does lube, but more importantly it cools.
@jessepitt

My rule of thumb is more pressure and less speed for hard material and the softer the material gets the higher the speed and less pressure.

yup easy to sharpen the big ones too, you can pretty much do it by eye with a bench grinder for a hole of that precision

The fact that Hillbilly said he wanted to go slow and careful with the drill because the drill bits weren’t his says everything you need to know about him to me. There are a lot of guys who just tear stuff up that belongs to their employer or other people and don’t give a damn about it. I’ve worked with people that almost purposely destroyed tools or equipment and had zero concern that someone else had to pay for it.

Strong emphasis on Braden being a natural. And Braden! In all my years I have never met anyone who said, "I learned too much in school." And I want to add that having the three "segments" intertwined rather than in series was really interesting. Nice job on camera and in editing to make that work.

Robby and Crew; y’all didn’t take it to the top with the highway patrol, but it went there because you are doing something cool that folks can get behind. Your channel brings Utah to the rest of the world. You are being respectful, trying to work within the rules of the law, and they appreciate those actions. You’re a good role model for how the state patrol officers would like others to interact with their vehicle inspection divisions. This is a great example of coloring inside the lines while thinking outside the box and having a non-adversarial attitude paying off! ❤

Come-a-long is actually a brand name for a "Lever Hoist". What riggers refer to as a "Chain Fall" is actually a "Chain Block". Whenever using any rigging equipment, it's critical to calculate the angle of the pull, because anything other than a straight pull will deminish the capacity of the instrument.

Surron electric bikes are probably one of the best off-road electric bikes made today. They are really part dirt bike and part mountain bike. You also can buy a ton of accessories to improve the suspension and the torque of the motor. They're very pricey but they're an amazing piece of machinery. I dream of having one one day.

Braden is cool and his project electric bike is cool. It would be neat to see him at the shop working on stuff, learning more about building, rebuilding, fabricating and upgrading anything with tires or tracks that can be ridden or driven. His Dad and Hillbilly and their friends could really teach him a lot of super useful lifelong skills and abilities.

Robby get you a set of left hand twist drill bits. Some of the big box auto parts stores have sets that are titanium coated. Pick a small enough size bit that you don't drill thru your screw or bolt. With a little pre soak in PB Blaster you can usually spin that stuck bolt out like it was supposed to come out.

Robbie, it’s nice to see you rig it once in a while! My son dented the fender on the S10 he drives. I bought a cheap glue pulling kit from one of the local auto parts stores, rigged up a chain and turnbuckle setup and hooked it to my garage door post. Unfortunately, I broke off the glue tab stem, so the fender still has a dent.

Advice from a retired race car fabricator: Stepper bits are intended for sheet metal. Best to use those conventional bits to drill 3/8 thick. I'm still waiting for you to adjust the ride height by turning the collars on the coilovers like I told you about before, instead of hillbilly engineering with limit chains. The spanners to turn them are not expensive. Remove limit chains and/or straps then jack it up until the springs are loose before adjusting. For cutting oil with steel I use old used motor oil. I put it in a lotion bottle with a flip cap or an oil can. Whichever, label it. Cutting oil for aluminum I use old ATF, as long as it's not brown. It's recycking and essentially cost free. For cutting that 3/8 I would use a cutting torch. Braden might not be tall, but at 13 he's not a little kid anymore. He deserves dad respect. When I was 13, I was an inch short of my max height. My son was similar to me that way. But my nephew at his high school graduation his cap was at my nose. A year later he was 6'4" tall. Then another year and he was 6'5".

Welding with the battery attached can do more than damage the electronics. My brother almost died when a battery exploded on a trailer he was welding. It overheats and overcharged the battery, creating hydrogen gas, which can ignite in an explosive manner. It threw a 3/8” chain boom through the 20ft ceiling.

4 link will not eliminate the track bar unless you double triangulate it… and that’s really tough to do in the front of a front engined vehicle because you need to figure out a way for the upper link to go from the frame rails to the center of the axle housing, and the lower links to go from the center of the vehicle to the outside of the axle housing. With an engine, driveshaft, and all the steering stuff, good luck!

I learned to disconnect the battery while welding when I needed to repair a trailer as the cost of borrowing it. I left the trailer on the hitch and welded the broken seam. How, I don't know, but afterwards the only lights that worked were the headlights. ALL other light bulbs on the truck were destroyed, including the dash lights. This was a 1974 pickup, so there were no fancy electronics to blow out.

Put zipties around the brake levers as tight as you can while it's full of fluid, and leave it overnight. You'll have brakes in the morning. The best way I've found to get little bubbles out on motorcycles. Otherwise you'll be there for hours trying to bleed minimal air bubbles out.
