I like these takes from smart Packers fans that know football. We’re a good team without some question marks especially at Pass Rush. Fact of the matter is this will be a Lions vs Packers division for years to come and you can’t have it any other way.

Andy, I agree with you on the Lions. The fact is, they are GOOD. And that's OK because they were so bad for so long I just always felt sorry for them and never hated them like I do the Vikings or da Bears. The fact that the division is getting better is good for everyone in it.

Pretty fair assessment of the Lions, considering the source LoL. Couple nit picks however... 1)Frank Ragnow isn't just a good Center, he's an All Pro level Center. 2) Glasgow & Zeitler aren't servicable Guards, they are Pro Bowl level Guards, as Zeitler made it last year and Glaskow played like one. 3)Alim McNeil IS a quality pass rusher at DT who had 5 sacks while missing 4 games. And Wingo IS considered as a penatrating, pass rushing 3 Tech prospect, not a run stuffer. 4) Don't underestimate Kalif Raymond's playmaking ability for the offense. Appreciate the content!

Lions still have Kayode Awosika who started multiple games last year when Jonah Jackson was out. Played OK during the NFC championship game, but he is deff #1 OG backup with Skipper being the Swing Tackle.

I think the Lions will still be the kings of the north but not by a large margin. My NFC North predictions for 2024 are as follows: Lions: 10-7. The Lions are elite on both offense and defense. They've proven that they can get it done last year so I expect them to lead the division again. There are no glaring weaknesses. The Lions are certainly capable of going to the Superbowl and winning. Packers 9-8: Packers are elite on offense but have question marks on defense (and special teams). LaFleur is the reason why the Packers had a winning record last season. Barry is gone but is replaced by a coach completely new to the league. The Packers can have a winning record but they have to get their groove early on, which is a tough sell. Packers have depth but lack high end talent and veteran presence which will prevent them from winning it all. I'm a Packers fan, by the way. Bears 8-9: Bears are elite on defense but have question marks on offense. Nobody knows what to expect with the Bears offense and their overall identity as a team. I think their ceiling is 10 wins based on their roster however there are too many additions at key positions for me to be comfortable speculating about their floor. Vikings 7-10: Vikings are average on defense (but still a blitzing pain in the ass), but have major question marks on offense. The identity of the Vikings is pretty clear. They're a team that's going to get 6-8 wins because of their high-risk style of play. They play a lot of deep ball (with a rookie QB) and oversell on blitzes. They'll have some exciting wins but will lose games against teams with veteran coaches that know how to defeat them schematically.

I’ll just question your rationale. The lions have an elite defense yet the packers have question marks? The lions weren’t anywhere near elite last year on D.

@@Matt-yq3gq The Lions were 2nd against the run. To your argument they were lousy with passing defense and Running or skipping QBs. Yet they went 12-5 so how did happened
@Matt-yq3gq
@Matt-yq3gq 3 күн бұрын
@@brokentubing they went 12-5 because they were a good football team with a great offense. Their defense had their moments but they were middle of the pack in stats that matter most, which means they weren’t elite. They also performed the way they did while having an offense that helps their D out. Much like packers defenses over the years that maybe have a couple nice stats or average rankings, yet in reality they were only “average” also in large part because an offense led the league in ball control and making a team one dimensional.

Jeff Hafley is not 'new to the league' at all. He was a position coach with several different NFL teams before leaving to get head coach experience at the college level. We also upgraded several key positions. The Packers Defense will absolutely be better this year.

Their head coach is a problem. Takes dumb risks in pressure situations, eg end of Cowboys, the NFCCG, and us on Thanksgiving. His unsuccessful fake punt deep in his own territory against us, while down two scores in the third quarter, was foolish.

Agreed, he doesn't do anything to help the team other than being a locker room presence which you can do as a coordinator, positional coach or even a third string player. He is what the lions needed to stop being an identity-less poverty franchise but they will soon realize how much he holds them back when their OC leaves.

Singling out all of the moments from an entire season that are only “dumb risks” because they didn’t work out and ignoring all of the times his “dumb risks” paid off, is a pretty lazy take. Not to mention his decisions are mostly based on analytics. He flipped a terrible franchise. They were one half away from a superbowl. The fan base is in love with him. People who study the NFL for a living are all saying he’s building a team to contend long term. And yet your opinion on Campbell is he’s a problem? Yeah they should probably let him go as a head coach….it’s just not working out😂 😂😂😂

I don’t trust the packers tbh. Loved looked electric the last 8 games but was very pedestrian before that. There’s tape on him and all teams in the division got better. No one got worst. Just see it as an opportunity for the packers to fall off. Somebody will, Detroit has been lights out since week 8 2022. Just believe Detroit is better, bears rise, I think packers fall.
@odaydrums
@odaydrums 4 күн бұрын
@@aceepperson6492 the Packers straight beat Detroit in that 2nd game. It is looking like a good revitalized rivalry. I don't know how the Packers "fall" exactly while the Bears "rise". Seems to me just making predictions on what the Bears did leaves you with the question what does that quarterback look like? In all the guessing that goes on, THAT position is the most difficult to find a rookie who comes in and can assimilate ALL that information. It CAN happen see CJ Stroud but that is an anomaly. Love improving was actually a team effort IMHO. Love got better but so did the rest of the team and LeFluer figured out some things as well. SO if it just as much a very well timed improvement rather than just Love getting better this bodes well for an actual IMPROVEMENT over last year. My biggest question is what does this Defense look like? So lets see who is the better prognosticator this season🤣🤣🤣🤣
