The natural color pinfish is probably my favorite live target swimbait I have caught tons of snook, reds, and trout on them. The golden croaker is also money. I will say the hook could be a little more stout for bigger fish.

After you caught the first snook, I noticed the lure already lost an eye. I put liquid super glue on all the eyes of this type of swimbait. Seems to help keep the eyes from falling out.

Great video. Man it does confirm that I would not be one who thrives as a paddle board fisherman. Hopefully you get the Gheenoe back online soon. As for the Live Target target, you were definitely getting reaction strikes within the first few seconds of the bait landing. I'm not sure how definitive that would be. I think you'd have to pull a page from Luke Simonds and have that lure on one combo and a same length simple white/perl paddle tail on another. And then just make three casts with one, switch rods, make three cats with the other, switch rods, on and on and on, and catch quite a few fish in the process and then go back and look at the efficacy of this or that lure. I for one don't place too much stock in lures that try really too hard to be overly photorealistic. I think 90% of the job is understanding the conditions in which the fish will be feeding, then finding those fish in that mode on the day of. I think you can zip tie a treble hook to a mangrove pod on a day like that and catch fish. Other days you could be tripping over fish and they won't bite. Look like a great day on the water nonetheless. The one thing good about the paddle board is it's nice to be in the back country again.

Cut the dorsal fin off. That’s how I’ve had more landed then bites. It opens up the gap for the hook.Great lure and awesome videos!

I clip the top fin enough to expose the hook. Had the same issue with the mullet version of those from live target then clipped em and had no issues

If you take a pair of scissors and gently cut that fin down the ridges to where it's not 1 solid piece yet still looks like it is, you will hook up with more fish instead of that fin having to roll over. 😉

I use the Live Target menhaden and Academy Sports Crazy Croaker. Super glue to glue them back together and a gold and black sharpie to color it back up and the eyes. Check out my tarpon catches here in Jacksonville.

Live target pin fish isn't that great. I like the live target mullet way better. I catch alot of different species with it. I even used it fresh water in the Netherlands and caught a bunch of 3-4ft pike with it. I actually had more success with it when pike fishing then any other lure I used. I use my lures differently though, I jerk it to the surface and let it fall, on the fall is where I get most of the hits.
