Just came here after the first half of Burnley vs City. City were obviously not at their best, they still look scary. Haland looks impeccable. Rodri is bossing it. They do look rusty, but that will be sorted out. The way Pep was going bananas with Haland, shows the drive and passion. Burnley were not bad at all. We, Arsenal, need to back up our players. Give them the vote of confidence. Teams are still in transition. We need to push. Underdogs or not, we have to push. COYG

I am interested to see how Arteta uses Saka. Last Season Saka played a lot of minutes and eventually got exhausted and his performance dropped. The same mistake should not happen this season.

Theres an interesting video on tifo IRL about arsenal vs man city community shield win, The fact that tactically arsenal approach against city were the same as when they were got beaten 4-1 on last season. yet the change of personnel (Xhaka,Zinchenko, Holding Replaced By Rice, Timber, and Saliba) making a huge impact on how arsenal played againts them. It just shows how Scary Arteta is if he got the right Player traits/tendency that could produced what arteta really wants.

When the likes of Pires, Henry, Bergkamp, Vieria, Campbell, Cole etc stepped onto the pitch, opposition were all shitting in their pants from their raw talent alone. And even if they were not exactly the best in their positions, the likes of Lauren, Toure, Parlour Lehmann, Gilberto Silva etc never gave anyone an easy game. This team definetly have the potential to replicate that aura.

Coolest part of arsenals team is even if they don’t win this year they’ll be better the year after as their team develops, I think the only thing standing in their way is other teams coming in a buying their best players. But the growing financial and continental dominance of the prem makes that less likely with every new season.

Id be interested in statistics that set the transfer-spendings in relation to the income of the team- that way i think you can make out the in- or decrease of transfers while acknolodging inflation and other factors. These nowadays „normal“ astronomical fees are obviously the highest they ever been each year, but setting them in some relation over the years would be a cool indicator i think!

Great watch as always and get well soon chief. I think Arsenal will do well again this season but there's unfortunately an inevitability about City. Prem fans always mock other leagues for having a dominant force but in recent years its essentially what we have seen from City where their rivals have to be damn near perfect to lay a glove on them. So the titles end up being won or lost by City maybe underperforming rather than their rivals outright closing the gap on them.

Chelsea sold a lot of deadwood this summer window so I think their wages will be much lower this season and they are signing youngsters for cheap prices (except for Caicedo). I think our board has figured out how to manage a club after a horrendous season.

@@warrengrant2992 You're not the first to misunderstand on my comment. But you need to understand the significant of top4 for a club with self-sustained model not funded by a country or oligarch. Clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs will need consistency more than anything now to make it to top4 every season. Winning trophy along the way will be a joyful celebration but it means little if your club yoyo between top4. The money from UCL means this much to such club. Arsenal will earn more money from a top4 + trophiless season than missing out top4 but won FA cup. Yes winning a trophy will be seen as a much better premise but it will just be a good PR toward fans and critics alike, personally. I just know my club need to be consistent maintain in top4 for many years to be sustainable, work within their budget and that budget heavily rely on whether or not you made it to top4.

Different as in: worse than last season and out of the Top 4 again? It's Arteta's fourth season in charge and despite receiving financial backing superior to Wenger and Emery he's won nothing since the 2020 FA Cup and finished just once above 5th. The PL is City's to lose but he should at least be aiming higher in the cups. And not sure whether spending big on just 3 players (one of whom already injured) will boost AFC's squad depth enough. The moment Chelsea and Liverpool get their act together, Arsenal will have a lot to worry about.
