Claire you have so much patience. I am using the PET washi tape to do similar pieces to yours and just cut them out with a pair of embroidery scissors then use the sticky tape technique to remove them from the backing (so quick and easy). I wouldn't have the patience or the steadiness to use the craft knife but it looks like a great idea.

I can't tell you how happy I am to have seen the video of this at Maker's and then your video. I was bought a different brand of this for Christmas, with no name or instructions on how to use it, so without any context or even knowing what it was called, I had no clue what it was or how to use it. Love this! I have this cutting tool for a while never thought of this! You are amazing thank you. I had issues with cutting the whole image out and it is a PIA to get the sticker off the backing. I found that putting the edge of the image on gorilla duct tape helps A LOT with getting that backing off. I use gorilla duct tape when I take masking off my laser cut items. It’s a laser artist dream duct tape.

Very Nice you were able to meet the Gyro Cut folks. Thanks for sharing it. Remarkable video on the Gyro Cut use.❤ Gyro cut has been around for awhile, I’m surprised more don’t use it. I was gifted one about 6 years ago for Christmas. (Not the pro)I didn’t use it for 2 years, 😂. Suggestion never user it on glass surfaces it will dull the knife horribly. ( I found out the hard way)

@@ClairesCraftyCorner funny thing is I was searching for the ink pen that looks almost identical when this cutting pen appeared in my search. I bought a few of both of them. If you scrapbook or card, grab the ink pen too. Has a well yo pour the ink in. Great additions both.

That tool is pretty amazing! It would be great for fussy cutting. I'm horrible at that! I really need that glue. I have two cutting mats that have lost their stickiness. I really love all of the pieces that you made! They're really beautiful. I love those butterflies!

Thank you for your enthusiasm and wonderful ideas!! I am getting confused in the different resins. Can you please explain why to use polyurethane resin over the others? Is it because it is quick curing? Is there a reason you prefer this resin over just using UV resin? Many thanks for your time and talent❣️❣️

The white background really brought out the colours in the flowers so an already white resin is excellent! 😍 Love that knife too, but when I checked the website I found the shipping (and calculated customs fees) was higher than the cost of the kit itself so unless it's sold in any stores around London I'll have to pass 😢

Awesome video, thanks for demonstrating the gyro blade, I've been eyeing it up for ages for paper art cutting, but I keep putting it off because of the uncertain ease of use, but you make a great demonstration, it'll have to go back into my basket at some point haha. These pendants are gorgeous Claire. How does one get their hands on one? I have this tool after seeing a papercrafter use it ....just requires a bit of practice (like any things😜). I'm really interested in the adhesive now.....postage can be a bear😶!

These are so pretty! I just came inside from my actual garden and band-aided two of my fingers, so I should probably stay away from craft knives for a while. Speaking of safety, I'm not sure if you are aware that using PU resins professionally will require a mandatory safety training of using diisocyanates starting from August 24th, 2023? I found this out while planning to buy some myself, but I figured I should probably do the training first, since I have a business - but I haven't got around to it yet.

This might be my favorite of your projects. They are so beautiful! Question about the de-burring tool: I bought one from Amazon and it just swivels around. It’s hard to get ahold of. Did I buy one that is just cheap or is that how they are?

Interesting tool - the rotating blade is not a new idea - Coluzzle had a series of cutting templates and the rotating blade, and Fiskars once had a cutter that you could fit on your fingers with either a stationary or rotating blade. I like the design of this new one though...

@@ClairesCraftyCorner yes to a degree - they aren’t as sturdy as a regular self-healing mat but as long as you don’t press too hard they work just great. After all the Cricut cuts them!
