I'm self taught at everything I do. And this video was impressive. I'm sure Michelle realizes that he's an amazing mechanic with a wealth of knowledge. But I wonder if she knows that professional schooled working mechanics often will never touch transmissions because they're just too difficult and complex. That's why transmission shops are completely separate and that's all they work on. Here he has that make of transmissions completely memorized and likely with no formal training just working with people who taught him. And what he taught himself. It's a basic attitude from the start of (sometimes arrogantly with myself) thinking nothing is too complex for me. And thinking I can teach myself that. That's what makes the best self-taught people. And it saves on tuition fees too! Hahaha

I built a couple Ford transmissions in the past. The difference between a 3 speed and a 4 speed is a lot more than a person might think. An ATSG manual definitely makes a huge difference for an amateur builder like me.

I watch another KZfaq channel, a transmission rebuilding channel and he's been rebuilding transmissions for 40 years, the #1 thing that he suggests is to allow to soak all the clutches and steels in ATF. You will be surprised how much atf gets absorbed by the clutch packs. Look up Precision Transmission. They are out of Amarillo, Texas
