I dropped my Xbox One S from 5 feet a while ago by accident on to carpet and the controller sync button and usb on the front don’t work so I have to use a micro usb for my custom controller and usbc for my elite controller in the back and when I touch like a paper clip or metal into the front usb port which is bent it turns my xbox off

They probably had it plugged into a bad outlet or extension cord. You don't suddenly forget how to turn on a TV you've had for 11 years, but sometimes you forget to check the integrity of your power supply.

@@adde9506 I dunno, sometimes a piece of electronic equipment will just die on you. My father and I had the same model TV and they both stopped working when you couldn't turn the TV on, either from the remote or power button on the TV itself.

That was my main question. While the system may still work, they didn't test to see if the disk drive still functioned. That being said, without it they would still function with digital games and probably wouldn't be too hard to replace.

Yeah. Their testing in the video of it is not complete. The test they showed doesnt actually tell you that they all work. It just tells you that they turn on and starts the initial set ups. It doesnt tell you if it would read disks or not. In other words they didnt show if you can still use the machine to play video games. Atleast hard copy of the video game. Meaning disk.

Hey guys I really want to see a massive magnet dropped from you tower onto a big block of aluminum. It won't be as explosive as your normal drops but it should make this pretty cool slow mo effect and I want to see if there is a velocity cap on the effect. If any one can pull it off it would be you guys.

@@001100AAAEA when a magnet is dropped on aluminum there is a field that causes the magnet to drastically decelerate to the point where it floats for a short period, esentially negating the momentum of the magnet completely. In curious if there is a speed cap when compared to the size of the magnet and aluminum. I also think it would be wild to watch a massive magnet go from terminal velocity to a dead stop without impact from a 120 ft drop. Assuming that is a great enough distance for the magnet to reach terminal. Should it not work then we get to watch a magnet explode against an aluminum block.

That k'ching noise that the first one made when starting up. I recognize that noise. Its the sound of a read head grinding on the platter of a HDD. That drive is toast. Doesn't matter that it, eventually, booted up. Its gonna conk it soon.

No its the metal RF shield (metal grate everyone removed from 360's to do case mods) being pushed back by the fan hence why its so tinny sounding and then stopped. A head failure on a 2.5in 5400rpm laptop drive wont be *that* audible on a mic from 12ft away and it'll be a constant sound while in use. Drive will probably still be toast soon though, They all will. Mechanicals don't handle "velocity changes" well and they're like 5 years now which is when they start rapidly kicking the bucket anyway. But I've only been doing pc (some console) repairs for 20 years, I bow to the internet experts as always.

Definitely. That clunk on the first one indicates that the disc loading mechanism suffered some damage, and the mechanicals are a lot more susceptible to impact than the electronics.

The question is: do the disc drives still work? That might have been the clunk on the first one tested. I'd also be wary about the HDD... they might not last long.

I had my XB1 in a backpack when i jumped my bicycle at about 20mph or more and I ate it. That XB1 still works after a 6ft/20mph drop with half my body weight on it. They're tough lol.
