Kirk, Zay, and Evan Engram has had career years with TLAW. No way you can sit there and say he can’t elevate those around him. Cardinal tossed Kirk to the side. Giants tossed Evan Engram and Zay had been on 3 teams. Also name me Trevor Lawrence’s first year WRs and you tell me how much a qb could develop with that kind of talent. Also, tell me how many WRs he had to throw the ball to that year. Then name me his second year wrs. His third season was his best supporting cast

Wrong Ridley got worse with Lawrence so that invalidates what you said also Marvin Hines had 1100 yard season twice before Lawrence and only had 500 with Lawrence also Kirk had a 990 yard season before Lawrence an additional 50 yards isn’t being elevated

@@AlexRosner-v8tRidley was sitting for 2 years and came back rusty. He dropped a lot of TDs and big catches if you watched the games. He still went over 1K after a long layoff. Kirk got hurt last year but went over 1K and more TDs his first year with Trevor. He was like the 3rd option in Arizona. Trevor not playing with top dawgs everywhere you look like Jalen Hurts is in Philly. Shady always bring up Clemson for Trevor but forget Hurts went to Bama and Oklahoma. Hurts never had a bad roster ever.

Bro I’ve been watching Trevor Lawrence play since he was a freshman in high school. My lil brother played him twice. His only loss came his freshman year against my brothers Buford hs in the first round of playoffs.. HE NEVER LOST AGAIN. Beat us senior year in the state championship. He was a rival but even I know that kid is meant for greatness. 🐐

Zay jones got a contract most mocked at the time now he’s a really good #3? Trevor elevated him. Christian Kirk, contract mocked and now he’s a really good #2? Trevor elevated him. Evan engram couldn’t get it done with the giants. Trevor elevated him. All 3 guys had their career best years with Trevor Lawrence.

I think another piece that everyone brushes aside is in December, as the Jags were fighting for the 1 seed, Trevor picked up a grade 3 high ankle sprain on his push leg, a concussion that made him miss a game, and a shoulder A/C joint sprain as well all within 4 weeks. The offensive line was one of the worst in the NFL due to injuries/missed games and it ended up injuring Trevor in the midst of a push to the top of the AFC. He couldn't push up on the injured leg and for sure couldn't scramble like he normally did to cover for the bad Oline. And then talking about the weapons around him like they were all top end weapons is revisionist history! Kirk was good yes, but everyone mocked Jacksonville for that contract, signing Zay Jones had people asking why, and Engram was laughed at for his hands and everyone thought he was a bust at that time. Yet 3 seasons later everyone talks about how good those players are and how he doesn't make people around him better even though all their success has come with Trevor. It's crazy how people can mock the Jags for their signings but then turn around and clown on Trevor because he has all this "Talent" around him.

As a Jags fan who still has faith in TLaw Its hard to say whether he justifies his contract because if he's the second highest paid then no one is gonna be convinced unless he wins a Superbowl. So it's kind of a trap question. You can use this question for any of the Top 10 QBs not named Pat Mahomes or Stafford. Also it's hard to say whether TLaw will improve because I think our staff is really below average at team building and building around Trevor. Trent Baalke is a below average GM and he's very stubborn. Also Doug Pederson for some reason is obsessed with making everything harder on TLaw and ETN with by keeping Press Taylor and making ETN run inside handoffs all day. And the fact that they couldn't keep Darious Williams or Calvin Ridley is telling. The Jags situation like always is just weird.

Jalen Hurts has AJ Brown and Skinny Batman and one of the best centers to ever play the game... Trevor has a collection of WR2s and 3s and one of the worst lines in the league. If Trevor was on the Eagles, the would have won that SB.

Dave is right, its outdated thinking <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="235">3:55</a>. Extending your QB doesn't equate to 'he HAS to win a SB'. Every franchise QB would have a SB ring if that were true. The TV/Streaming deals are insane and increasing the Salary Cap. 2-3 seasons from now Bryce Young may get extended averaging $62M+ per year in "the largest contract ever signed in NFL History". And still he wont HAVE to win a SB to justify the contract. This is the Franchise QB Market, hate it or love it.

James is just talking reckless. Trevor Lawrence is better then Daniel Jones. Jones has never thrown for over 3300 yards. Lawrence has thrown for over 4000 yards his last two seasons. Jones has been in the league two years longer than Lawrence.

By that measure we have to knock down Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson too. With them and with Daniel Jones you have to measure total yards and team total because their own rushing plays a huge role in what they produce as well as running the read option so their running backs need to be figured in.

Lawrence is super overrated, but people like you that cry about these falsehoods are pathetic. What about Jalen Hurts, Kyler Murray, or Watson getting the same kind of deals? Hurts has the best roster in the league, the best offensive line and wr duo, and his best passing season ever is 23 tds. Kyler Murray had Hopkins, marquise brown, and he's never even won a playoff game. Watson's situation speaks for itself. The Browns are better with literally anyone else playing QB.

Paying a QB 50 or 60mil/y is not going to turn him into a Mahomes, Burrow or Lamar. They pay QBs that much as soon as they hit on a guy good enough to provide solid, consistent playoffs expectation. That is the standard.

Obviously he was out of football for a year, but regardless it affected the team last year and if you don’t believe me about the most drops in the NFL, just look it up. @@LKS-M9323 quarterback is definitely the hardest position to gauge and play by far. If you have that same average or young QB, it would probably do the qb a service to be able to get better weapons at their disposal. Better running backs, wrs, tes, the whole 9. If I were a competent gm I’d realize he has to be coached very well and that costs. So in the end an average qb can cost about the same as a good one. I mean I’m from New Orleans and we benefited from San Diego fumbling Drew brees. As good as Philip was, I don’t think he could have don’t what Drew did with a franchise like the saints. I think Trevor is more Philip than Drew. Very very good but won’t put you over the top. Hall of fame tight end, running back and a ton of good receivers. Football is tough lol

As a Jaguars fan. You can tell the people who actually watch the Jaguars play. And none of the people in this video were one. We were 8-3 and then Trevor Lawrence was hurt for the rest of the season. Zay Jones was hurt for most of the season. Christian Kirk was hurt the same game that Trevor Lawrence got hurt. As a Jaguars fan, I'm glad we paid him

Christian Kirk was viewed as an over paid number 2 or 3. Since being in Jacksonville with Trevor he’s put up number 1 numbers. Zay Jones had the best season of his career with Trevor. James Jones needs to watch a little more “film”

It's not upside, what it is is if you're starting QB and not easily replaced by a backup / rookie this is the going pay rate. If you are a starter not on your rookie deal you get paid this or your agent messed up. The media needs to stop associating it to what you were or could be. Are you a starter? Yes? Then you get paid close to this and if you stay a starter you lived up to it, that's it

Before tlaw started getting hurt the Jags were near the top of the standings. With him healthy they are probably a playoff contender. Without him they are irrelevant. Its a good contract especially where the market appears to be heading. You have to understand this contract isnt even active hes still on his rookie deal by the time this kicks in the cap will have grown for 2 more years.

Everybody keeps saying the only way they can live up to their contract is to win a Superbowl... That's not true if they can just leave their team deep into the playoffs every year that should honestly be good enough they can win a super bowl but there's only one that's going to do it. In James wouldn't be up there saying Aaron Rodgers ain't worth 50 or 60 million dollars a year and honestly he ain't showed us s*** except a few individual awards
