Love how their skin looked absolutely normal after spending days in the water. Human skin literally starts to break down when it's within water for multiple days and this was a major issue for soldiers in damp trenches in the world wars. @@minimochi2206 At 12 I watched my father having a heart attack and being put in the ambulance never to see him again. My mind used to go back to those minutes often and I would be sad. I think the brain repeats events as a way to learn from them or change the outcome. Like if you had a car accident maybe you do need to replay it a bunch but with the death of my father and your sibling there is no learning from it or fixing it. I bet if I asked you could think about the beach or even how red watermelon is. So when i start remembering I choose to remember him throwing the football in the front yard with my brother and I or any pleasant memory. I’m sure he would be unhappy with me remembering him at his worst. I know this is a lot of info but m a old guy now and it would be nice to help someone a bit. The last thing a promise is that most people use the word “guilt” wrong when they really mean “sad”. You didn’t do anything wrong with your sibling but are just sad as to the circumstance of the events and the outcome of course. I think it you say those the word sad instead of guilt it will make your journey easier.

As a pool guy I’ve never seen a solid fiberglass pool cover. The most tough one I can think of is a looploc solid cover which would be very difficult to get out of if our over you. But a looploc isn’t automatic. Automatic covers are very thin and easy to punch though also. Also yes solid covers exist but they aren’t common and I’m fairly sure they can slide on their own with no power.

This actually reminds me of a similar story I heard when I was in my first elementary school, apparently a few years earlier 2 sisters who did after school swimming had gotten stuck in the pool after the cover went on at the end of the day and because they were only around 6 and 8 they weren't able to be pull it off on their own and ended up drowning. The school did a memorial thing every year, but no one ever said anything more specific than "to those we have lost" so as to not freak out the students since this was a primary school and we still used the pool. I actually heard the story from my big sister, but it was one of those situations where of you tried to ask a teacher or anyone else they'd just look sad and tell you not to worry about it. Apparently it was quite an intense situation when they were found the next day at morning swim class and no one really got over it. Understandable.

One thing that's irritated me is why they didn't just move to the shorter part of the pool. Typically pools always have steps that lead to five feet than so on goes deeper. It would've been way easier to stand in the five feet than having to stay afloat in a deep part of the pool

The janitor pissed me off. I don't care how bad her life is. She had no reason to put those two through hell like that. First off how are you gonna get mad at someone you tried to rob because you found out that they are broke? She could've saved them from the start. She could've gotten an award or maybe she could've gotten another chance from a very greatful boss who would've been held accountable for the death two girls he accidently trapped and left for dead. Instead she herself left them for dead a bunch of times or outright tried to kill them because her life was terrible and she felt like taking it out on them. Now she's just left with a guilty conscience and will probably go to prison if the girls decide to tell their whole story to the police.

As someone who's been in many pools near closing time there's absolutely no way you're getting free swim time lol. Staff always spot you and always tell you to leave at least 15mins before the pool closes. Even underwater swimming - they'll spot you etc, but who cares we don't watch these films for realism!
