Every time I listen to this song, I hear something new. It's one of the most beautiful, poignant songs I've ever heard. I remember when this happened :( The lengths someone will go to, in search of a better life here... "In the houses they're turning on lights, putting blindfolds over their eyes, getting ready for another day at work. This illusion I'm living in, makes no sense to me". It's so true. We're born into privilege here and I believe it's our duty to do something with that privilege, whatever way we can.

Went to see him live and he explains this song is about a story in the news a while back in which a young man fell from the bottom of a plane as it came to land on Heathrow airport, it was believed he was looking for a safer country, it was supposedly his birthday and all he had was a pound coin in his pocket

I've only just found out about will Varley and absolutely love him! So much depth to all the lyrics, then you read the comments and you find a link to a news article and find a whole other layer. The thought that went into making this video too. Genius absolute genius.

Couldn't believe my luck when I found out Will was supporting the Dead South at Brixton Academy. Two of my favourite acts!! So looked forward to it. Had no idea support acts had to put up with so many ignorant assholes in the audience. Talking drunken shit!! Constantly!! Will, and The Noble Jacks , trancended. They were both excellent.
