When I was 18 years old Dechamps joined Chelsea, the team I folllowed, and I was working with a young French Lady who said that he was something of a cariciture in France because he spoke with a less refined French accent and she clearly had a less than favourable impression of him based on that. He's a mediocre coach who can't see beyond ''let's play it safe and we will hit on the counter with our naturally gifted and talented players''. His teams move the ball so slow and predictable when they have possesion and he always counts on the talent and the phisicality of the french players without giving them a structure of atacking football.
