In my (new) au he has schizophrenia and hallucinated that he needed to kill these children to save his family from glitchtrap (someone who isn’t real and that he also hallucinated) because if he didn’t he would kill them all. This was after C.C and Elizabeth died but he refused to believe they did even though he saw them both die and C.C died in his arms on the way to the hospital. My au is pretty weird lol
