On the 13th of June 2017 William Dalrymple discussed his recent book 'Koh-I-Noor: The Story of the World’s Most Infamous Diamond' as well as Scotland's relation with India at a Chairman's Lunch of the Asia Scotland Institute.
His recent book tells the riveting story of the Kohinoor, the world’s most coveted gem. It unearths fascinating new information as it moves from the Mughal court to Persia to Afghanistan, from Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Durbar in Punjab to the Crown of the Queen. Shrouded in legend and superstition, the Koh-I-Noor continues to arouse passion and controversy, as India, Pakistan and Afghanistan all claim the diamond and demand that Britain return it.

Jaipur literary festival was instituted by Pramod Kumar. The others like Dalrymple and Goenka contributed to it.

I hope every person in the UK thinks about India as William Dalrymple does. The Indians and British working together in all aspects would be Unstoppable.

Rishabh Bhatt why you lying to yourself, even the banks in india are corrupt look at nirav modi case, everyone is corrupt, only the poor low caste and women suffer, there has been 0 progress. why has China which was colonised to an extent managed to do trade and have made in China products around the world, and have world class infrastructure, because they don’t tolerate corruption on large scale, go look at Swiss black money case.
