William Feaver is an art critic, curator, lecturer and an artist himself. From 1975 to 1998 he was the chief art critic for The Observer. In 2019 he published the first volume of a two part biography on Lucian Freud. Freud is regarded by many as one of the most significant artists of the 20th century. William’s account of his life is honest, insightful and a great read. On this episode Julius and William discuss the life and work of Lucian Freud, as well as his contemporaries.

I enjoyed part one of the biography of Lucien Freud. He may have been a marvellous artist - but he left a lot to be desired as a human being - because he was a notorious lecher.
