This is my current favourite. Accidently bought it one day in kerala, as shop had limited options. Started loving it - instantly. It has been a year so far - have recommended it to many of my friends back home in bangalore. They all loved it. Value for money. Good entry level Scotch. Name makes u believe that this brand is century's old and it's not wrong....

William Lawson was born in Scotland between 1853 and 1859, and subsequently migrated to Ireland. By 1888 he was exports manager at E&J Burke’s blending, bottling and export company in Dublin. In 1889, the name W Lawson & Co, Dundee and the label ‘Lawson’s Liqueur Whiskey’ were registered to Edward & John Burke - confusingly also trading as W Lawson & Co - by William Lawson. In 1890 Burke’s became a limited company, with Lawson the company secretary. In 1891, he became a director of the firm, but in 1903 he was dismissed by Burke’s, for unknown reasons. In 1963 Clan Munro Whisky (which created Munro’s King of Kings Rare Old Deluxe Scotch Whisky) bought the Lawson’s trademark, and agreed with the Distillers Company Ltd (DCL) to call the brand William Lawson’s, in order to avoid confusion with the DCL blend Peter Dawson. William Lawson Distillers Ltd acquired the 1962-63 constructed Macduff distillery in Banffshire. Its single malt was marketed as Glen Deveron. In 2020, it was the 5th largest selling brand of Scotch whisky in the world. William Lawson’s is known for its absolute consistency. William Lawson's 13YO is the 12 YO blended spirit that has spent one year in charred bourbon casks before bottling.

Rs.1055 in Daman.. i am drinking William Lawson quite often since last 2-3 yrs. Taste is moderately good, nasha is good, after effects on next day are not harsh. Overall a good whisky at affordable price (in Daman). CHEERSSS !

At this price point this is the best whiskey. When I tasted it for the first time in the club because teacher's was not available and I fell in love with this.

Right now i am enjoying the review and the drink together!! i just love its lightness in taste.

It's a proper old fashioned Scotch. No emphasis on on any particular note but suggestive of many diverse notes. Of course, it's a young whisky so the alcohol element does intrude on the experience, but that is excusable at this price range. It's a well-executed blend that can be a wonderful dram on a cold and windy evening.

TASTE IS GOOD am lover of VAT69 but after your review I tried this and TASTE IS GOOD.

It has a leathery taste , a but bit bland. But it's a smooth & classy whisky as it doesn't give you hangover even after 4-5 pegs. Overall a good entry level scotch.

I went to get Some scotch today and like always my choice was black dog or teachers, but got this and having it for 1st time... liked it 👍🏻🥃

I think May be that green bottles used to avoid particular wavelength of light that changes the taste due to photo synthesis. Like beer bottles and medicine bottles
