In this interview, William Scott Craig relates his experiences in the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. He talks of his childhood and how he entered the Corps. He recounts serving at Guantanamo Bay, where many of the civilian employees were Jamaican. He describes liberty in Pearl Harbor, and the typhoon they encountered on their voyage to Okinawa, where the ship nearly capsized. He tells harrowing stories of operations in Vietnam, including stepping on a land mine. He describes helping to load wounded female Viet Cong nurses onto medevac helicopters. He tells of his homecoming and postwar family and career.

As I watched this video and listened to his story I was thinking about what he did after his Marine Corp duty was up. Not in a million years did I think he became a Cop 👮 He doesn’t come off like a “stereotypical” Cop. I bet he wa good at his Job Thanks for your Service Mr Craig

Such a down to earth Marine. He did not embellish his life. Damn good Marine. 🤜🤜🤜🇱🇷

very serious man, and became a policeman, very fitting. i knew exactly what he was talking about coming back stateside to la. when i derosed back in 1969 to the san francisco area. what a rude welcome home. i'll put it that way. he had my ear the whole story. no bs.

Man done well, 👍👏👌💪🙏, great story. Very articulate, tells his story well, good detail. Interviewer, well done, didn't interprupt when he was speaking well.
