I played this game about a year in a half after it came out. This game also had 1 or 2 same sound effects Gorgar had.

Oh yeah, I didn't think about it sounding like Gorgar! That makes sense.

The sounds are definitely closer to shooting laser balls than bowling balls!

Yeah, lol. There's a backglass for the bowling version floating around online, pretty cheesy....

I've played this before, and it is one of the harder playfields. Very unforgiving. Those drain lanes are truly hard to avoid. Cool layout still, but difficult.

Usually you have to replace those connectors between the two boards, the way the thing's designed it won't boot all the way up unless it can talk to those PIA chips on the driver board below it, if any of those pins aren't making good contact on the interboard connector it won't boot.

Yeah seee not sure if this was a bad idea but my dad back last year soldered the two boards together thinking that would help.....:(

Looks good, and also easy paintjob, just abit red, you could have done that with a red marker pen right before you started filming :P
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah but if it's just minor we like to leave it, let somebody else mess with it :) You have to clear coat it, blah blah blah big pain in the ass honestly....

Yeah i hear ya, although i just filled in some black spots with marker pen on my recent find, a Bally Wulff Motordome, i believe you had a video about it once?
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's a fun one. The sound is a little crazy though.... took us awhile to figure out it's SUPPOSED to sound like that, lol. Have you made the "million point shot' yet?
@SwedishEmpire1700

No, i rescued it 3 days ago from a cold damp basement, so ive done the cleanup, soldered some cracked contacts on the boards and made new ROM chips, and made like 2 test starts yesterday, but it have no displays and it pops the fuse if you touch the flippers LOL
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 6 жыл бұрын
You'll get it, be careful of the fuse values though. We had a Dungeons & Dragons that someone had overfused, and it burned a hole in that damn power board in those things. I haven't messed with one in awhile but there's probably a bad diode somewhere either on the flipper or on the power board...

A lot of Joust sounds for sure....
@LyonsArcade

Yeah, pretty cool, they probably had to pay a lot of money to create those sounds back in the day so they reused them over and over....

Joe's Classic Video Games One of the designers said they just kept using the sounds cause they were popular and they had them at this point...
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah all the companies (or most of them) had cool sounds they created, like the quarter drop sound on Ms. Pac-Man or Galaga for instance... all the Joust sounds had really cool 'warm' vibes to them that people really liked....
@pinballdan

Joe's Classic Video Games Yea those Joust sounds are really cool and Laser Ball was really good sounds for such early William's game!
