I didn’t. I think they are a pain in the butt. It’s holding up great. I put the money into better mud flaps on the truck.

Really enjoy your review. Looking to get a willie boat. Can I get your thoughts on arms for seats and level diamond plate floors for the front and for rear passenger? Thank you

Level floors are great for your passengers. Easier on the feet. I would recommend. Arm seats always seem to get in the way in my opinion…but it depends on who will be riding with ya. If you are guiding then probably yes.

Nice boat, Kyle! I've got a very similar setup. What is the black matting you use in your rower's tray? I throw weights and stuff in there and the paint is all dinged up. Like the idea of the mat.

Its just a commercial rubber mat that was laying around. Its water proof so its perfect. Cut it to size and boom. Works awesome. Also keeps eggs, shrimp juice and plastics from getting baked on your boat from the sun.

Its just some kind of industrial rubber matting that my neighbor was going to throw away! Works perfectly!

Hello Kyle, I have the same boat and am going to buy a new motor. Im wondering how you’re liking yours now that you have had it a while. How’s the vibration and would I be better off with an extra long shaft? I realize extra long means sail pro and no fuel tank on motor but I'm ok with that. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks very much.

willieboats.com has the 4 point anchor system for sale on their website. Definitely a must if you are running a kicker motor.

Definitely long shaft or extra long shaft depending on your DB! This one is a Tohatsu long shaft!

Yeah I love the walk around seats, however I was nervous with all the corners when I have my kids and dogs on the boat. So I just went with the bench seats!

Great boat. What do you think about that diamond plate in the center and not being a full floor in the back? Do you have a trip on the sides of the diamond plate? I was thinking about getting a full bottom boat thanks hope this made sense

I personally haven't had any issues with it not being a full floor, however the level front and back would be nice!

Hey Kyle - sweet rig. I am looking to put a honda 8HP on my 16ft willies - my question to you is how do you have a fish / depth finder mounted? Seems like your rig is pretty dialed; wood shampoo - hilarious!

Putting a depth finder on a drift boat obviously has some challenges. You will be scraping bottom, the ass end is out of the water, hitting rocks and such. What I personally do is run a floating depth finder made for kayaks and pontoons. I tie it off of the oar lock and it floats right next to the boat. I don’t care about marking fish…not how I fish…just want to know the depth. Hope that makes sense. They are cheap on Amazon. Under a $100. 👊👊

I do, kind of! I use a Lucky Kayak Portable fish finder. Just toss it over the edge! Works pretty slick.
