As a father I've been through something similar in my son's earlier years. It's heartbreaking that there is an active participating father who's willing and able to be a part of a child's life and yet there are restrictions. I would never put those types of things on my child. The court system weaponizes children and that really sucks. I hope you don't give up or lose sight of the important things. Will pray for you.

I am sorry for your loss; drugs are horrible and people who deal this addiction are criminals. No one can turn back time; if this where possible there would be no future.

It was never your fault...Addicts come from all walks of life, some from the best most loving families. You won't ever know why he chose to do drugs. We as adults have to take responsibility for our actions. We can't blame our parents as adults, because we are not children anymore, we have choices. Once someone makes the choice to do heroin, it takes you, you become physically dependant on it, it's the hardest drug to quit. With that being said, I am sorry for your loss. I wish for you the strength to walk the difficult journey ahead. It won't be easy, I know because I to have lost my son. Though the circumstances are different, my son was 5. This is the hardest thing you will ever face in your life....it changes you. It's normal to feel guilt, i still carry the guilt, I suspect I will for the rest of my life.
