This was made just after her protest against the church. She sang it with him the next day at a concert celebration for Bob Dylan. She was being booed off despite other artists support. Their performance was cut out of the final, so Willie released it on his album. Anyone who actually boos a protesting singer from a Bob Dylan concert with Kris Kristopherson and Willie Nelson clearly has no idea who any of them are. Rest easy Sinead. Thanks for supporting her, fellas.

Especially for her children and her siblings- I send a special message of compassion with the balm of healing, it was not easy and life can be very complicated.

Comparing this to Peters is like comparing apples to oranges. Personality I love the depth in Willies voice and the brokenness in Sineads voice makes this rendition more powerful to me. I feel the lose of Sineads passing I pray she is a happier place. Blessings Willie and everyone.

I called a rite aid today. .while I was on hold. .this song came on. . It was like God was speaking directly to my heart ❤️.. . I can imagine those on the verge of suicide or giving up has used this song to give them strength to hold on, and be strong.. . Eventually things will change, . Nothing stays the same . I had no idea these two remade the Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush version. The song is amazing and these two did a great job as well. For those of you who have not heard anything by Sinead O'Connor before, please look up her version of "Success Has Made a Failure of Our Home" she did a great job with that Loretta Lynn classic.

You should NEVER think to GIVE UP despite how bleak things may be; stop believing everyone's your friend; we cry not because we're weak----but because we were too strong for so long.... Never lose yourself over someone who didn't care about losing you. Don't care about if someone doesn't like or love you----because stand tall and tell them, " I don't care if you hate me, the last I checked the pathway to heaven wasn't through your backyard." Love yourself with the deepest respect, and know love will find you again..... Suicide is never the solution--- If you knew how quickly people forget the dead.----Try and stop pleasing everyone else around you; never put the key to your happiness in somebody else's pocket. You might not be able to see it now, but good things will come. Just hang on. Life is so sweet and once you get thru the pain and are on the other side of it you will treasure every second you have. I am told that Willie asked Sinead to do a song with him after the Bob Dylan concert, and they got together the next morning and recorded it in one take. RIP, Sinead... Oh...! I never even knew this cover of Peter Gabriel's song existed! I am kicking myself for missing this cos I'll be listening to this for the rest of my life. I love Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush, who sang on the original, but this one right here is the one I find most powerful & moving. Willie & Sinead, you nailed it. I will never forget being in Mass and seeing the priest maybe Bishop rip up a picture of Sinèad O’Conner. This was in response to her ripping a picture of the Pope. She was on the frontlines of bringing attention to this very dirty secret. Forgiveness is a given in the Catholic Church. But enabling is never guaranteed. I will always respect and adore this woman. Good for you sis. Taken too soon. Thank you for being so genuine. You have been missed long before your passing. So bold and unapologetic! What a woman!

Same here! I enjoy being alone doing things with nature, with God's creations. Only human's have the ability to hurt another and although I love and know there is good within each person if we look deep enough, but sometimes the searching leaves a person drained. I see so much hate and disrespect happening in this world that givng-up seems the easy way out. This song I heard today for the first time and it built-up some of those muscles in my heart again meaning I won't give up because I can't/ Someone somewhere may need comfort. Great song, but even greater are the words of wisdom.

My wife Mickey of 42 year's died a week ago. I tried so hard to think of just the good times.!! God I miss that woman so much, I prayed every night for the Lord to let me see my wife again. !!!!! The Lord did grant me the wish to see Mickey again. I am so greatfull . Then tonight I heard this song and it touched my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Second time I've listened to this tune and again tears 😭 are welling up it was many years ago when I tried to commit the crime of taking myself out of the picture and this brought all that struggle back into my heart as of many who have thought and tried this terrible situation and survived but this beautiful song is echoes exactly that survival but in any case they created a beautiful rendition from a beautiful song great job willy and rest in peace beautiful lady whose sweet sweet voice will be missed

I was in the bathroom letting my tears hit the floor because my life is not going good right now. I looked up at my phone saw this notification and clicked immediately as i heard the words i felt that i was meant to hear this. I love willie Nelson and i just realized that is sinead o conner singing with him wow her voice is so beautiful. Thank you willie for all your great music over the years. And this well this is truly a masterpiece

I'm scheduled for brest surgery Monday. I'm doing great and partly because of this song. I've worked really hard for this. I relistened to review how far I've come 😀 Thank you Willie ❤

W.O.W. I was raised on Willie and went to college on Sinead. Willie's still around. Sinead is too, in her music. But like MCA, she won't be gifting us with any more original lyrics. She had such a strong voice, both lyrically and politically. She changed the minds of a nation - or at least Ireland's highest officials -- in direct opposition to the Irish Catholic Church, which I am pretty sure most people living in Ireland identify with. I will always be in awe of her.

I lost my late wife to cancer in October of 2016 she took her last breath in our home in my arms my world shattered in to trillions of peace's i lost my whole world that night theres no words that could ever come close to the hurt and pain Patrick Gallagher
