when i went to ethiopia i tried khat. there they make a bundle of leaves not eat them one by one. then they chew them and keep them stored on the side of their mouth (adjacent to the cheek area). when the taste becomes mild indicating a depleted bundle, you spit it out. or if you eat peanuts as you are storing the bundle, the leaves get broken down and pretty much slide down your throught without effort. you feel that they just disappeared

Hey man, this video is awesome. I liked it. However, I’d like to inform you that there’s actually no kind of UN program that pays people here unless they’re in a refugee camp and in need of food distribution. Instead, they receive remittances from parents or close relatives. Other than that, this video is very interesting and informative. Thanks 🙏

One of the reasons why the population of Uganda is escalating is because of Congolese, rwandese, burundians, south sudans, eriterians, Ethiopians, but as u have said they freely mix amongst the local people do businesses and become successful. Uganda's population is around 42millions but when u add others it's about 47million Not mentioning indians of Uganda decent close to 120000 and chinese

I'm glad you survived the Khat experience. My first thoughts watching you was thinking, either this guy is Already addicted or is very inexperienced. I hope the lesson learned is that taking instructions on how to use any substance from the very person who sells it, no matter how caring he may seem does not make you appear to smart because he is the very last person in the world to give good instructions. In truth his only objective with you is to squeeze every last shilling out of you as he possibly can. He knows he will never see you again so acts accordingly.

Well, Willie, id like to meet the Buganda people (i don’t know if i spelled that right). Because i also have a high xenophillia streak. Always been fascinated with different peoples. But today i am very -painfully- aware of many many people looking for fault and looking for racism in white people like me. ( Im a white-fella from Australia.). So now a person like me has become more insular. I don’t even bother to ask people where are toh from etc. One day a younv man with some sort of European accent, sat next to me at a restaurant. We struck up conversation. Then I could not pick his accent. I asked him if he is staying here for study or what ? He got up, marched away and literally threw himself into a seat at another table. Sulking. He was offended about something- something in his head. It was that I noticed and mentioned his different nationality. He reminded me EXACTLY of my grand children at four years of age, when they throw their toys. It’s learned behaviour - contagion by the internet. I asked him to tell what is wrong- and he coo. He didn’t really know. Its so powerful when pycopy others and dont even know their reasons . Because it is actually not their own reasoning. This has always been dangerous in history (remember Hitler And i remember my ancestors the Irish, where the young people throwing rocks at each other in Northern Ireland didn’t even know why they did it- they were just taught Well, it feels very similar right now in the atmosphere. Its very unconscious. And unconscious is dangerous I am old -and i have seen a lot. This looking for racism, sexism, looking to put men down etc- this is new. I did not grow up with this. And the people especially the young are paying a high price in anxiety because they’re scared to say anything. And the public internet shaming makes it worse). We have had a big immigration of Sudanese people to our country in the recent years. Im fascinated by them. Cant stop looking at them. Theyre tall, and their teeth are so whote im jealous . And some young men have their front teeth knocked out (a manhood ritual apparently). The girls are gorgeous. So different looking, and they of course will bring a new and so interesting different psyche to this country. But -apparently- to even notice that they will bring something different, is supposed to be racism. So. Im intimidated to talk. And it has taken away my spontaneity- what a terrible loss. (Except with my friends, where nothing is sacred, and no one is spared, and we have a go at everyone- even ourselves, lol !! ). And frankly I’m sick of this obsession in the young (all races - looking to get you into trouble for saying something wr- they ACTIVELY look for it. ). I cannot take this. Bit its a shame, because I have always been absolutely fascinated by humanity. I would love to meet these other xenophilic people you mentioned . And ask and answer a thousand questions and gave a laugh. That would be refreshing. I am a fairly old woman (not too old, but grandma age). I have my qualms with the human race in general. And i have had some times of depression and fear due to this, throughout my life . But it’s never been race -specific . I get pissed off with different races sometimes- always due to behaviours. And i get pissed -off with my OWN people. This is natural i think. But you have to hide natural fears and annoyance these days. Boy !!! How dangerous that is- because it doesn’t make it go away by doing this. I have enough hard- earned knowledge to know that this just pushes it all underground into the shadow, where it is much more dangerous. (That’s psychology 101). When you spoke about these certain people being xenophillic, my heart had an extra beat. That’s how oppressive it has become for me around here. It has been very painful for me- who has always wanted to welcome people, to be put down as racist. Very cruel. Well, maybe one day ill be lucky enough before I die to meet some of them. I would love to travel aga. Don’t know if it will ever happen. I enjoy your down to earth travelogues, Willie. Thank you

what Willie said is complete nonsense. I sign of low education. That is exactly what the US is in integrating peoples from all over the world and in the process becoming Americans. Most of the US is effectively Xenophillic.

reading this warmed as well as ached my heart (more the former though). you've clearly brought out what the majority of especially the internet world is today, frightening! however there are still lots of xenophillic and open-minded people in the world, and most Ugandans just like many other African communities are an example. such amazing videos as Willie's can only tell us that much. wishing you a long healthy life enough to see you meet as many similar-hearted people as you'd ever imagine. (i'm Ugandan, East African btw)😀
