HAPPY 30, Guys, I'm going to make an arrangement in my yard, there in Florida, and we have some trees that will be sacrificed, but they can be used for bonsai, they have good nevari and low branching, we can make a video of how to collect this type of material to give it another chance like bonsai.

Do you leave a defoliated tree in the sun? And I was always taught not to re pot and defoliate at the same time due to over stress it may cause

Hey Bob, it depends on the stage the tree is in this ficus I out right into full sun but as the ramification gets denser I will keep it in afternoon shade until fully leaves out. Defoliating a tree at the same time as reporting actually reduces stress on the tree and increases success rate and it makes your tree come back stronger.

Greetings, I am based in Jersey (UK Channel Islands) and wanted to know, to gain strong ramification how often would you suggest defoliating a deciduous tree and when during the year - note I am a beginner Bonsai grower.

Hey Brian, I would only defoliate once in the summer time during the dormant period. I would go to a local nursery and ask when the summer dormant period is in your area. In Florida it is July. In the winter time your trees will most likely defoliate themselves
