She is a nepo baby even if she doesn’t want to be, or even if she is talented enough to have made it without her parents. It’s an unavoidable leg up she’s had. Not even just with connections in the industry, but having an audience willing to pay attention because of her parents. I feel for her to have her talent or hard work brushed off with nepotism, but the reality is her parents have helped just by being who they are.

But they did help dispite her doing a lot on her own. She does get hate online for being black, I believe that, people try to downplay her art because of her parents and because most whites are nepo and privileged that it's not even talked about, and the one and few lucky black celeb kids always get called out and I'm sick of it.

In the old times, there was a cast system where depending on your parents jobs, you could do either one, but it also affected your social standing. This was also heavily enforced where if someone who was caught playing "above their station", they were pubished severely. In those times, actors were beneath beggars. They also weren't allowed to testify at trial because they could lie convincingly. Funny how the past mightve had a good reason for why they did certain things.

I hate celebrities who have zero concept of time and money. That IS privilege. You were able to pursue music because your parents had the money & you had the time. Other teens have to go to school & have part-time jobs, as well as having no access to equipment, studios, producers, and record labels. Her father is literally a top-charting musician... For her to say that nepotism doesn't/hasn't benefitted her is creating a false narrative & it's completely delusional. Benefitting from nepotism doesn't mean you can't still be extremely talented and hard-working, but it DOES mean that you had a bounty of amazing opportunities that other people can work hard for years to get & still never receive.

So what is the solution?Ban the kids of artists from taking up the family business?Leaving aside the constitutionality of such laws would this apply to other fields as well say doctors? To be honest at least as artists if you genuinely suck at it sooner or later no parent will be able to keep you in the business. People will simply not watch you and the media moguls will say 'Sorry Will but we did everything and she still sucks nobody listens to this.' Its far more damaging to society to have the son of corporate head x take over the family business than this. In the grand scheme of things those are a bit more important. When those take over they take over behind closed doors. You don't know what they're doing. A bad artist you'll notice it quickly.

You can't really fake it when it comes to music. At least not for a very long time. Legacies usually end after the first generation. Things you’ve probably never done before or thought of, and the fact you’re ignorant to that shows you don’t understand you’re talking about. You can’t just magically make a well produced song out of thin air without AI. It’s like saying only the singer of a band is talented and nobody else helped at all, which is very untrue. +the music industry is 100% a scam and most views are botted to reach high views whether the artists realize it or not. @@JamieBleuyeah, none of that is true. She’s been singed to a major record label(ROC Nation) since she was 9-10, before she ever released a song, and she was managed by her father’s management company until 2019 when Will Smiths management company was bought by her record labels management company. Her first single “whip my hair” was announced by her mom on the late show a couple days before its release, and it charted at number 11 on the billboard 200. Not only has her parents put her in movies as well, but they also both promoted her music everywhere thruout her entire career. She had Nicki Minaj as a feature on her 2nd ever single. She has ALWAYS had a major label and a huge management team behind her, not to mention having the biggest producers, mixers, musicians, writers, and biggest artists as features on her records. Look, she can’t change that fact that she was born as Will Smith’s daughter, and that shouldn’t be held against her just for being who she is, but that doesn’t change the fact that she is the absolute epitome of a Nepo baby, just out of the gate getting signed to a major label before she ever released a song. The best thing she could do, is just own the fact that she has an immense amount of privilege, and just say; “Hey, I know my parents are a huge part of where I am today, and I’ve had a huge leg up in life, but the music I write is my own music that I wrote and whether is good or bad is completely on me, despite whether it does well or not.” Of course that’s assuming that she actually writes and produces all her music…which she doesn’t, but I did only see like 5 co-writers on her 2nd most recent album, so that’s better than Drake!

I'm black and I consider her a nepo baby. Will Smith is a HOUSEHOLD NAME! He is such a big movie/tv star that he has a writer to change scripts for him. A casual actor cannot just do that! Even if her parents weren't famous she's already a head of the curve just for having rich parents. Nepo babies are always denying how much priviledge and access their parents give them, how doors are easily opened for them because of their parents. No one is saying she's not talented but talent and hard work does not always open the doors for you especially in Hollywood. It's about who you know and she knows the biggest stars in Hollywood! The average person has to fight much harder to even get to the door, let alone be allowed in. But this is why nepo babies like Jamie Lee Curtis don't get flack cause she's honest about her priviledge. I love how she is grateful for Halloween giving her a long career, but she also states her parents played a huge part in her getting that role. If other nepo babies just acknowledged this basic fact no one would give them flack.

When your parents help out with everything it is easy to assume you are doing it all on your own and could have done it without them It takes someone like me, whose parents went bankrupt suddenly in 2008 crash who realized how much those rich parents help. Like I dropped out of the top university in America with health issues. But to return I needed to pay them $6k. If my parents were still rich they would’ve instantly paid it and Id have been right back to school the next year. But instead I worked restaurants and bars for YEARS to save that money. I finally have it now but I have developed more health issues my insurance doesn’t cover so I’m trying to decide between spending it on that or school. She has no clue how privileged she is.

She does benefit from nepotism and she does have to deal with racism, both things can be true at once. The thing is, she is genuinely talented. Nepotism is only really a problem when people without talent get put into places that people with talent should be. Willow Smith is one of those people whose art is good enough to stand on it's own without anyone caring who her parents are.

This is wild, "I would have success even if my parents weren't who they are", this is such a wild statement. Like girl, literally the only reason I know who you are is because of your parents. Does she have talent, yes, but so do thousands and thousands of people I have never heard of either. Every bar in the world that plays live music has talented singers and musicians that the masses have never heard of and the majority of them will never be famous.

Having the talent to possibly make it on your own doesn’t mean you did or will😂😂😂 Plenty of people have talent but don’t make it, a big reason being financial backing.

@@ivanh9694All i get when thinking about Jaden is the thought of his dirt bag mother interviewing Will Smith about the fact that she’d been banging their sons best friend and she made absolutely no attempt in the slightest to hide it! Even going to the extent of gaslighting Will into believing it was his fault!! Dirty beyach!

@@lourencovieira313 I meant that a lot of celebs, change their names to try to break away from the family influence. (Even though in reality behind the scenes they use their parents influence, meetings, directors ect. ) Willow and Jayden pretend like they’re self made when 99.9% of us only know them, from Will/Jada, buying film rights, photoshoots, interviews. Ect. From being babies their parents put them in the limelight, gave them their platforms.

Being a Nepo baby and experiencing racism are not even remotely the same thing. Just because you happen to be black doesn’t make you not a nepo baby, you can be black and a nepo baby at the same time idk why she’s talking as if you can only have one or the other.

And let's be honest, racism is actually a poor people thing. Sure, poor black people get targeted more than poor white people but it's not so much about race as it is power. Wealthy white people and wealthy black people are basically immune besides the maybe odd isolated and rare incident for black people (I mean in real life, not the internet because everybody gets attacked for everything on the internet).

So she’s saying that coming from a privileged home with super FAMOUS parents. That are in movies, music, sung about. Those mega rich parents who afford her lifestyle had nothing to do with her gaining the connections and resources she needed. It’s not as simple are “hey dad could you call so and so and get them to hire me”. No it can be as simple as the fact that she has enough resources that a “hobby” like music could be her sole passion. No thinking about bills, call offs, losing a job, being too tired, normal life things that put things like singing on the back burner. No she had enough resources to sit down and start at an early age and just put her whole life into what most see as a hobby. A side thing with no hopes of getting there. And that’s assuming the name “willow smith” had ZERO leverage.

Plus if you do add in the power of her name, ANY producer is going to absolutely jump to sign her if she is even halfway decent. If she is a naturally good singer she wouldn't even need any training or resources that her family could provide because the name alone will get her signed up and they'll do the work to make her music marketable - bypassing the years of training and experience usually required.

She is making the most of a situation. Her song are good and original. I would say the same for Jaden too. Also, he really was good in karate kid.
