► LYRICS:
I don’t fuckin know if it’s a lie or it’s a fact
All your little fake friends will sell your secrets for some cash
Smile in my face then put your cig out on my back
If you ever see me just get to runnin like the flash
I knew a boy just like you
He’s a snake just like you
Such a fake just like you
But I can see the truth
Transparent soul
I can see right through just so you know
Transparent soul
I can see right through just so you know
I don’t fuckin know it’s paradise or it’s a trap
Yeah, they’re treating me like royalty but is it kissin ass
No one’s brave enough to take the fall right
But it’s all your fault
Why you actin like it’s alright
I knew a girl just like you
She was vain just like you
Such a pain just like you but I can see the truth
Transparent soul
I can see right through just so you know
Transparent soul
I can see right through just so you know
It’s clear to me know
You’re scared of me wow
It’s clear to me now
(Transparent soul)
It’s clear to me know
You’re scared of me wow
It’s clear to me now
(Transparent soul)
Transparent soul
I can see right through just so you know
Transparent soul
I can see right through just so you know

Honestly as a black girl that loves alt style and music it really means a lot to me to see Willow transform like this I'm her age and I've been a fan since Whip My Hair and I'm here for all the vibes from 21st Century girl to Overthinking it- Wait a Minute and now TransparentSoul her music is so healing and this is a banger.

As a fellow Black girl I can say it's a surreal but beautiful thing evolving as an individual while seeing someone around my age, my race, my gender evolve beautifully as well. I'm also Queer so seeing her implement those kinds of themes proudly in her newer work means so much to me as an extension to her new defined grit! It's simultaneously intimidating and yet inspiring (in a positive kind of way!)

From Olivia Rodrigo's "Good For You" to Willow's "Transparent Soul", I'm starting to notice a resurgence of the early 00's emo-punk scene. This song takes me back to those late fall/early winter vibes, where I would listen to Fall Out Boy, Sum 41, Paramore, Good Charlotte, and My Chemical Romance on the way home from school. Those bands introduced me to rock music and helped shape my taste in music to this day. This song is definitely on my top list for favorite tracks of 2021. 🤩

Smith released “Transparent Soul” in April. While Smith's earlier musical efforts were distinctly pop and R&B, “Transparent Soul” marked a full-fledged shift into pop-punk and rock, genres she'd loved ever since accompanying her mother Jada Pinkett Smith while she was on the road with her metal band Wicked Wisdom.

I agree Jakob, thanks 4 being brave enough 2 speak up about how u urself saw something there and put the pieces together with your beautiful mind. She’s humbled by life 2 be privileged and be aware of it from what I’ve seen in her interviews. So the way I C IT , she’s blessings folks through music as it is our audible medicine taken on the regular. (At least 4 M.E.) and throwing some salt 4 a bit of flavor along with other ingredients on top of the already flavorful foundation of other musical genius set before her just doing it with her own twist. Like they say. “ Be Christ like” but definitely don’t forget to be you. So it’s cool she’s just doing her human thing and growing, blooming, blossoming like the young Qween she is and tossing us some of what G0d blessed her with 2 learn and grow through and from, and sharing that knowledge our way. This is all my opinion, but I just wanted to speak up as you did jakob and say thanks 4 doing so. Big ups! C00l thought man!

I don’t make music in this genre personally but I’ve gained a lot of respect for WILLOW over the years. She is so versatile and able to hop from one genre to the next whenever she feels like experimenting - and she kills it every damn time! What an incredibly talented person she is. I also have a deep admiration for her fanbase. Such supportive and postive people living within her comment sections and that always makes me smile to see these are just the kind of fans she tends to attract! I hope some day I am able to garner a fanbase of similar characteristics for my own music! That in itself, would make me feel like I’ve finally made it : )

I remember being 12 when Whip My Hair came out and everyone went nuts over it, myself included. Then we just never heard a whole lot about Willow after that. When Meet Me At Our Spot blew up on TikTok I LOVED it and had to look it up, literally blew my mind when I saw who the vocalist was. She is so incredibly talented and I'm glad she's staying true to herself regardless of all the Hollywood media bs. She rocks the punk style, the septum ring, hair, and the genre altogether. I freaking love her. 🖤

Meet Me At Our Spot is fantastic. Her and dude kill it. I came searching for more of her stuff like that and there just isn't any. Like what happened to her vocals? I had never heard anyone sing like she did in that song. Now she sounds like Avril or Paramore, hints of Gwen Stefani when in No Doubt, etc. Its funny how for someone who is constantly singing about wanting to be her own person and develop her style, she sure does seem to copy these other chicks style.

Well money helps lol. I mean I'm sure they got some form of allowance as kids and Saved "their own money" and used their parent fame to get opportunities. I'm sure they had a lot of time to do whatever they wanted as in experiment playing music or acting or getting trained by this person to do this or that. Or hang out with this artist or that. While normal kids their age didn't have that going for them or had to work or did school sports etc etc. It's all environmental. I'm sure if you were in their shoes and raised by their parent you would have been doing something similar. I'm sure you didn't mean this literal lol but yeah that's how I view it.
