This battery is lower in price than the budget server rack battery if you include the cost of the rack ($279 per kWh VS $283 per kWh) . But if you buy a single server rack battery, it will be cheaper by a little bit ($269 per kWh). So if you are buying a full stack, it is cheaper than budget priced server rack batteries. Two of those batteries would power my house for more than a day by themselves. No solar panels needed I live next to the ocean in South Florida.... I've looked it up before and they claim we get 6 hours of sunlight when it comes to solar panels, but I don't know how that works because it's sunny from 7:00 in the morning until 8:30 p.m. everyday in the summer so I would think you'd have to get more than 6 hours of solar panel. Maybe only 100% output for 6 hours? But my house uses 21 kW hours a day That's with two air conditioners. A hot water heater, two fridge and freezers, microwave, oven, lights, TVs computers

Yes, and it comes at a great cost. I went through four different chargeverter 5000 units before I got to their second version where they fixed most of the initial bugs. There were so many things wrong with the initial units that never should have left the prototype bench, but they were still selling them to clear out inventory before they got the better units in stock.

I built 2 batteries for my RV with EVE LF280K cells. Custom 3D printed cases with a JBD 200 Amp Smart BMS. I am currently building 2 more and they will have heating pads built in (will redo the first 2 to add the heating pads when we get back from the NASCAR race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway). So, my RV will have the same capacity as that battery, 14.3KWatt Hours. Have a 3,200 Watt inverter hard-wired into my RVs power cord storage compartment so I can plug it in and easily run one roof AC all day while we are driving. Have three 200 watt solar panels that I need to mount before we head to Vegas. Will be nice to only pull about 70 Amps from the battery during the heat of the day while running the AC unit and the fridge. Have learned so much watching your videos. Definitely have helped me in my builds.

I purchased an electric chain hoist, similar to what Vevor now offers for 300 pound capacity, and 250 watt, 110vac. I wanted a bit more factor of safety, and off the shelf reeved lower hooks were not available, so I took a side grinder to a rope pulley sheave, and made a reeved lower hook to double the lift capacity. I then replaced the chain for a longer 4mm chain and now have a 500 pound capacity, 10' lift chain hoist that I can run off of the Bluetti EB3A. And it was less than $200.

I like it a lot. My concern with these big batteries vs. server rack is that IF they fail, you are out 1) a lot of money, 2) a huge battery to be hefted and shipped 3) a Huge portion of your battery capacity is offline. Having a bunch of smaller server racks seems a lot more practical for DIYers for whom this kind of battery is marketed.

I just had an EG4 18kPV with 6 EG4 LL (v.2) 48V batteries installed along with my solar panel ground mount system and I ran into the exact same issue with the communications between the inverter and batteries. The installer couldn't figure it out right away and suggested that I contact Signature Solar. I was able to figure out the issue after watching a KZfaq video about the problem and everything worked just fine. The day with the EG4 LL batteries was to temporarily switch the ID # from 1 to 64, then turn the battery off and then back on (including the breaker) and then push in the third button for 5 seconds to get the protocol switched over to Lux. After doing that you switch it back to ID# 1 and it works. I totally agree that a quick guide would make life simpler for users and yes, it was a pain in the butt. TGYT (Thank God for KZfaq)..

Just received my 18k bundle from Signature Solar. Someone needs to put a few sets of blocks in the break room in the shipping department. The way the boxes were stacked on the half pallet they used it never should have been shipped. Everything arrived in good shape even though a forklift had done some pretty serious damage to a couple of battery boxes. Each battery was very well packed in the box and the driver helped break down the pallet and we both inspected everything. All my contact with Signature Solar has been great and I can't wait for my server rack to ship so I can hook everything up. This new battery looks like it may be a good addition to the system if it passes the Will test.

Nice, solves my gripe with server rack batteries where my first ever impression is lack of capacity. However, the price is not much cheaper than buying three server rack batteries, as buying a single unit is to save on cost. Maybe there's slight edge to weather proofing? I guess if one does not have indoor space for batteries, there is nothing else to get but this.. Another thing to make this more compelling due to its size is electric vehicle DC charging (through DC voltage conversion not AC) maybe through a separately sold module or another model.

A large stackable version is availble as a DIY kit from DOCAN (China) about $500 for case & BMS, they sell the 280AH lifepo cells for $90/each, so $1,440 + $500 under $2,000, then you have to add in shipping and ali express fee, so add in another $500, DIY for $2,500. EG4 getting $4K, it is a wall mount, but it’s ridiculously heavy.. a stack with a floor dolly makes more sense, as long as it’s elevated above the floor. The EG4 version is probably worth more money, as it’s already built and all fees are paid..

Great video as always! I love the heated battery... but I wonder how well this would do in a hotter environment outside. It can get up to 120F here in the southern CA desert! I would accept one as a proving site! LOL

That kind of heat will certainly lower the lifespan of the cells!

This looks like a great product for larger solar systems. Now that they finally have the software working, maybe they can also release an 8k version of this that supports 12K of solar input (2 MPPTs). This is good for 24 panel arrays (or even 27) but a lot of homes do not need more than 16 panels.

Could you use this battery along with a inverter and charger as a stand alone EV Charger and backup power source? I have grid tied solar system and I want to charge my EV at night, when the car is home, on solar power.

Been curious how the DAKOTA LITHIUM PLUS 280AH 12V packs so much power into such a small package. By volume, it doesn't seem possible. Have you seen this size with this much storage before?

Your videos are so bad ass. Great vid. Do you think that mounting these on your home is a good idea or best to have a battery shed or other building rather then primary home mount for safety and fire prevention in the event they have issues for some odd reason.

I'm curious to see in a true outdoor scenario (not a temperature controlled garage ot workshop) how these are going to work/last because you're in Vegas it's over 100° even at night. I would like to see this hooked up outside because I don't see any cooling features on this to keep those batteries cool under load and just being outside in that heat. Thoughts? Also for reverse scenario how are they going to do in winter in cold and freezing temperatures?

SO was the setting change that made comm work on the 18K or on the battery unit? What were the DIP switch settings on both units that finally worked? A picture or description would be more helpful than a quickstart guide. "This worked for Will" is good enough for me :) Also DIP is Dual Inline Package, originally used for integrated circuits socket and the like. The easy-button pronounciation is "DIP" like "chips&dip" not Dee Eye Pea like spelling out D.I.P. E Tucson Arizona Hot as Vegas and not as fun (although from your pics looks more like Henderson or Summerlin or northtown...)
