This is probably one of my favorite movies but as a kid and even now I am still confused of what era this movie is in and what country because there are American and British accents in Charlie’s town, even Willy has an American accent. Lol 😂

This game was a fever dream for me as a kid. Idk how I got past the Augustus levels, but I remember I got to the violet levels, and I got far enough to a part where robots chase you and scary music was playing, then I got scared and turned it off. Brought it to GameStop for pennies.

According to the lore about the oompahs, it was working at a chocolate factory or continue dying off as prey to the local beasts. Also, them not being formally brought into the country makes them illegal immigrants, which opens up all kinds of legal doors.

And repeating the same ineffective action over and over until Dan says "Maybe this doesn't work how you seem to think it works..." which then usually leads to Arin figuring out what he is actually supposed to do. But then he rants about how stupid the game is while the game is explaining what to do in the next part.

As children my sister used to play this on the gamecube with dad, we have fond memories of it EDIT: My sister is in fact that person who's childhood game it was and we were super into it, though not as into it as Ratatouille for the Wii (specifically the sewer racing part)

I loved playing the ratatouille game on the ps2. The sewer racing part is one of the first things I think of, that, and the giant fruit part. Those movie games and the harry potter one are such fever dreams.

When Arin hit the Oompa-Loompas with a jelly bean, I heard quiet, angry yelling in Russian. My boyfriend is playing a different game in the background and for a moment, I thought the angry yelling was from the oompa-loompas. 😂

So for the voice acting, that isn't Johnny Depp, but that is the kind of voice he was using in the movie. It's pretty spot on if a bit more sweet sounding. And the narrator wasn't Christopher Lee, he was Wonka's father, the dentist.
