My kids and I really enjoyed it and would happily go again. We weren't expecting to walk onto a film set and we had a great time. There was jelly beans (a hand full if requested not just one) , marshmallow, strawberry, lemonade (you could take as many glasses as you wanted not just half a cup), the actors were very good and willing to answer all Wonka questions and there was even a bouncy castle! We saw no problem with it at all and would happily go again for the same price

I feel like the victim blaming is unnecessary, the initial advertising was waaay different and tricked tickets out of many parents before they changed the way they were marketing it. Plus, being a hard-working, tired parent makes it hard to background check every single thing ever. Priorities often go to background checking things the child would be attending/doing without parental supervision

@@imbluedubbadee those are very good points, it’s also possible parents were just told about this event or found about it and got tickets without necessarily going over every detail of it. i’ve definitely been places without sitting and going through the entire website. also you’re right in saying there’s nothing to gain from saying the parents were silly for being tricked

For our US viewers, in the UK every year without fail, we have a similar disastrous Christmas event which hits the media with kids crying and angry adults. This has given me the laugh early. 😂

I'm so glad i have about 13-15 years community theatre expeirence because i can think of all the ways with a low budget to make a place like that actually be fun and come to life..more tutus to fill out dresses, making fun early 1900s hats with tulle and fake flowers and a hot glue gun, some cheap jelly glitter bracelets and other ideas to hand out to people...when I did Wizard of Oz the first time (2011) our costumer took a gallon or big ice cream bucket, added a brim and fabric to make it a top hat...I'm sorry there are ways! Hire a drag queen, something 😅 I actually would have done a smaller event for free somewhere open or smaller, give people a taste or sense of the fun and colors and some sets, lighting...could have been better if it was actually planned and the right people behind it
