In this video I am beginning to cut apart the FC 150 cab in the shop and start making parts to replace all the rusty bits. Today the rear cab corner. Cutting out the old one , making a buck, and shaping the new panel. Lots more rust than expected so many more parts need to be made.

Thanks for watching. I am hoping to generate some interest in metal shaping with the next generation coming up behind me. I don't want to see work like I do die off like the dinosaur that I am becoming.

Great video! It is certainly took a lot of time and effort to make just those two pieces. People who complain about cost, should be required to watch videos like these so they have a greater appreciation of the skills required!

Bill, it is always a problem with people and projects........ they just don't understand what it takes to make parts. I think it would be even better if they were here in the shop watching and helping.

Excellent result! I think the people that think this work is easy need to sit a watch it all come together, unfortunately there are more people around now that think you can just throw it on a 3D printing machine and sit there drinking coffee, they have a lot to learn from watching this. Many thanks for showing this.

I have a better camera and a nice stand now. Next thing I am hoping to get is a person to do the camera work for me while I am working. Takes a long time to set up for a shot, so I am hoping someone, someday would like to do the filming.

Last winter, I told you the sun would be beaming through those workshop doors again, and here we are moving right into the next winter, and you are getting stronger and stronger... I hope what you are making on these jobs is really contributing to the materials and tools you need to get your place bubbling along, and that we will see your little empire go from strength to strength - and of course becoming more autonomous in terms of self reliance in the meantime. There is nothing better than watching a man just slicing through life, and pissing off all the idiots that said he couldn't do it.

your grasp of my situation is amazing. You must have had some of the same troubles as I have along the road of life. Always good to hear from you, and yes things are getting better. Have a freezer full of food..... enough wood to heat for the season...... and a shop full of work, should be a good winter.

@@metalshaperJeep Hey Brian, you are correct, I have had the same problems, listening to deadbeats talk about how other people are so useless, as they themselves, go through the relentless and hopeless lifelong routine of sleep, commute, work, commute, eat, TV, and repeat - living little more than a slow boring death, just consuming and producing nothing as they do it. Sitting in their cars as the service lights pop up on the dashboard or in front of their TV's listening to the lies. I look at them now and think "the wheel is going around, but the hamster is dead..." I am building my own house and workshops in the South of France. I used to listen to all the laboratory rats back in the UK, where I am from, and it dragged me down for years, until I realised these idiots are exactly that, and I basically got in my car and drove on and on until I found the perfect place to live and flourish. And now, as the process is slowly but surely taking shape, I look back at them all, that herd of sheep, and guess what? They are in the same place, doing the same thing, saying the same stuff... There is a saying and it goes; If you always do what you've always done, you will always be where you have always been. It is men like you that built that fkn country Brian. Men like you that that got off there backsides, took everything they had thousands of miles from home to go to a wilderness in a horse and cart - and they built a civilisation from NOTHING,... Just remember that my man. It is men - real men - like you that made what we have today possible.

I don't know how much experience you have with metal but you can make parts like this by hand with a hammer and shot bag. You will need to be able to shrink by hand and the process will take much longer than with a power hammer. Any part can be made by hand with enough time but you will need some understanding of how metal moves.
