NCIS has always been such a good ensemble show. There really is no "star" of NCIS. Gibbs was, kinda', being the boss and all- but still it was always a team effort: the team of agents on the show, and the team of actors playing those agents in the show. As various cast members have moved on to do other things, and new cast members have come in- which over so many years, feels very much like any real working environment: teams, coworkers, change and evolve all the time. I think that now McGee is the only original cast member left, is that right? Wilmer has been a fun addition. He does the action stuff very well, he can play some humor very well, and he can play the drama and serious stuff very well! He's a terrific actor and performer- much respect! He the actor, and his character, seem to have fit into the dynamic of the show very well. The writers continue to find interesting stories to tell, and they continue to have human-driven stories for each of the characters, including Wilmer's character. It really is a very well-written show. Here's to many more seasons to come!
@Mike-kw5xv

McGee isn't original, he only appeared starting in season 2 so he has been around a long time. The only character who has been there the whole time is Doctor Palmer.
@DiMono

@@Mike-kw5xv Not true, McGee was a recurring character in season 1. His first appearance was in S01E07 Sub Rosa. Palmer's first episode was S01E21 Split Decision. So they're each characters that have been there since season 1, but neither of them were there from episode 1.

@@DiMono Ok, good to know. I didn't actually go back and look up when they first appeared I just used the official listing which put McGee down as a main character in season 2 and doesn't mention season 1 at all oddly. As a former Navy officer that was not involved with NCIS, I think I do understand the mission limits for NCIS. So many of the tv shows involve crimes way out of the mission requirements. And, occasionally, there is an existential threat and the only agency involved in the fight is the four to five members of a NCIS unit that shouldn’t be involved in the first place. Then again, it’s a tv show. Limiting it to legitimate NCIS situations would be exceedingly boring.
@publicuser2534
@publicuser2534 Ай бұрын
I’m not sure about that. I would have said the same about AFOSI (Air Force equivalent of NCIS), but I was wrong about them. I found that out when I arrived in Iraq 2007. Two OSI agents were killed in Kirkuk from FOB Warrior. then eight years later, one of the worst incidents in OSI history…four OSI agents and two Security Forces members were killed by a VBIED in Bagram, Afghanistan. Unfortunately, I have ties to both of those incidents. You never know what kinds of investigations those agencies are involved in.

I feel like calling it the "NCIS" 1,000 episode is a little bit misleading, since that number is including ALL shows in the franchise (as opposed to, say, L&O:SVU which celebrated 500 eps in season 22 or 23 and has the longest running single actor character in TV history - Benson). Even so, it's incredible to know this show has been part of people's lives for longer than many of my friendships, longer than my niece and nephew have been alive.

late night talk shows should be synonymous with infomercials since all conversation is ultimately skewed toward commercialism. the guest starts off being personable, relaying personal anecdotes, before invariably revealing their true intent which is to advertise their newest product. omg, puke.

Stephen's first guest on this show (Christiane Amanpour) wasn't 'selling' anything. Yes, she does have a show that Stephen mentioned but she was there to talk about some of the current things going on in the world. Just sayin'. 🤷‍♀️ And yes, what you assert is pretty much what these shows have always been about. Even back in the days of Carson. A nice chat for the guest to promote their latest thing and for the audience/viewers to maybe see a bit of a different side of the guest than they might otherwise see.
