My older Sister and husband live there. I stayed at Potters Inn while visiting and really like the town. Just right size for a country mouse like me. Beautiful country. Politics in Illinois getting worse every day and hope to find a nice little house if I have to get out of Illinois. Love the vidio.

I was born and raised in this town, as a kid growing up you don’t understand the vibe of it, but as you grow, it grows on you. Im still friends with everyone i ever met, and that’s something you cant get in big cities.

My family lived on Akers drive during the 1970's. It was a great place to be a kid.

They aren't colleges. One is a university being Asbury University (Asbury College back in the 70s and before), and the other is a seminary similarly named Asbury Seminary. Each of them have world renowned pipe organs.

This is awesome. I grew up in wilmore, all my family still lives there. My wife and my first apartment was downtown and my first job (besides farm work) was at the Subway. I went to asbury and worked there and have family who works there, my dads the fire chief in town. This is a wonderful video. I have a funeral plot in the cemetery but hope to move back before I have to go there.

And don't forget the 4th july and veteran's day parade. The campgrounds would be open to the public after the parades with all the venders and pony rides and blow up play areas for the kids. Halloween was always fun and the shops will be open just like for Christmas. They have ghost stories near the gazebo that you by tickets to go listen . the red train car is open on Christmas and Halloween where you can have a history walk through tour free of charge. The rice building across the road is also open and is free to look at the history of wilmore. There are two different bands that play one at Fitch's and one at the bank. The thrift shop also has music and refreshments (tho they normally have free coffee on business days as well)if you go past the school on the back roads there is a creek that flows over road and is fun to drive through. The clucker gas station has good made to order pizza and finch's IGA has the best cheap lunch back at the deli . Saturday they normally have 50 cent hot dogs(though depending on when your reading this it may have changed.) Also if you like hiking the asbury hiking and horse trails are a good pick. (Note some trails are lift best on dry days when there hasn't been any rain ) if your ok with a bit of a drive out of town to high bridge there is a festival they have in the fall. Lots of games for the kids, music,food and venders. They even have there high bridge museum open up free of charge and they also have a model train set up and running.

Good video. I lived in Wilmore for a total of 8 years and I'm a graduate of both institutions. I attended the Ichthus music festival. In fact, I worked security in 1975 and escorted Andre Crouch to his car. Former VP Mike Pence was there for the 1978 festival. Thanks for a drive through my memories.
